I thought I was revisiting the penis game too soon, but it's evidently been two months to the day. Holy geez, I ran that two months ago? Time be flyin'.
RAW wonders if the guy out-Forcing Yoda is perhaps a Sith Lord, and tells me the third film was enjoyable. Wallace echoed that (the part about the third film, he was quiet on the Diet Pepsi ad issue). I remained unmoved. (I swore yesterday was the end of my Episode III douchebaggery - I lied. Here is a review from an NFL commentator that comes close to explaining my feeling for these new films.)
Andrew WK bequethed unto the world an update yesterday, including a link to a wigu strip. And in case you were wondering what Andrew has to say:
Hello. No apologies for the time away - we have all been forming. I deliver an enormous and very deep thank you to everyone who keeps up and keeps on going - you have my undying admiration. There is one way for us to do what we love, and that's to do it with all our might and without hesitation. Give in to your passion entirely, and don't question where it leads you - the real deal will always feel real, regardless of risk or leap of faith - we bolt blindly forward, into dusky black-evenings, knowing that our reward is perpetually reaped in this: our own reality.
So... Yeah.
My friend CK, the one of Harry Potter and Easter and free tickets to things fame, is from a town called Peculiar, have I ever mentioned that? I love that fact.
Sleater-Kinney's the Woods is officially released today. That review makes a big deal over producer Dave Fridmann's involvement, although his credits are largely foreign to me (some acquaintance with the Flaming Lips' Yoshimi, everything else, non lo so). I got the album on Thursday (look how cool I am!) and have given it a listen and a half, mostly because I keep forgetting to update my iPod. I don't have the album internalized yet, but I like it. Not sure if it tops One Beat or Call the Doctor for me, but it has a chance after I give it a few more listens. It opens hard, and I mean, hard - drums smash everything, Corin shrieks like a banshee, the whole nine yards - on the Fox. The song Modern Girl is insanely catchy, and, being the sort that loves epic songs and extended (but coherent) jams (no Phish or Dead), Let's Call it Love is awesome. I have a really hard time with their lyrics - poetry's always given me fits decoding. The album itself, unless it's my speakers, which is completely possible, has a kind of transistor-radio feel to it, which I actually think is really effective. Kind of a fuzzy hiss, like the whole thing is a second away from exploding upon itself. Again, could be my speakers (which would be embarrassing). I guess we'll find out when it's on Polly. Anyway, what with S-K's cameo in the strip, thought I'd spell that out.
While we're on music, Billy Corgan apparently hates his former Zwan-mates, which is hilarious, because I saw Zwan in concert with Lauren and Providence Erin, and we were all shocked by how happy Billy seemed. The Lyric video also prominently featured a smiling Billy. Odd. He also mentions that James and D'Arcy are good people, which is funny, because on his old site, about six months ago, he blamed James for breaking up the Pumpkins and called D'Arcy a mean-spirited addict (cocaine is generally accepted as the substance she was/is? addicted to). Well, whatever, Billy. (Here's another interview with Billy, also quite odd. How excited am I that his solo album won't be a big rock thing? Not very.)
Item 7 here is hilarious. A few years ago, Playboy and High Times magazines played a game on the field my company was on immediately before. Random story, as usual.
I found a few movies from E3 regarding NCAA 2006 - they looked completely unimpressive, so I feel safe skipping this one. The last NCAA game for the PlayStation before making the jump to the PS2 - I think it was 2002 - was a total clunker, also, so it's probably just EA taking a year to gear up for the next-gen systems. On the other hand, the PS2 port of Resident Evil 4 looks cool, and most of you are familiar with my interest in zombies.
Collegefootballnews ran it's Notre Dame early preview the other day. They're always a bit more pessimistic than I like to be, especially when they generally turn out to be correct-ish.
