For no reason whatsoever, More Than Donuts.
Want to know what I'm bad at? Boggle. There is definitely some higher, and I have yet to score eleven points off the word quagmire.
The GYC is apparently open already, and the fact that I didn't know this depresses the hell out of me. Looks like I know what we're doing this weekend.
CK ran a link to this article from a few years back on Bill Watterson from a Cleveland paper. Thought I'd duplicate it here. I love Watterson - Calvin and Hobbes is probably the best comic of all time. What's funny is that CK ran it in reference to Bill Amend of Fox Trot, and I was making a similar comparison to 2.0 over the weekend. Fox Trot's a solid performer on the comics page, but it's not going to redefine the medium like Calvin or the Far Side or Peanuts did. Basically, Watterson and Larsen were the Manny and Papi of the comics page Red Sox, and I think Amend is Trot or maybe Tek. You're going to get a solid .310-.330 and around 30 homers out him. Schulz would have to be Ruth or some legendary figure like that.
I'd like to say that my random expository on the comics page wasn't the most bizarre diatribe of mine poor 2.0 has had to sit through lately, but I gave her a pretty thorough run-through of the He-Man action figures the other day. Check it out, they scanned in the awesome comics that used to come with the figures. Those are the only parts of toys from my childhood my mother threw out, those books. I must've had, like, 50 of them.
