2.0 thinks that Pete is turning into every girl's worst nightmare. More thanks to yesterday's strip (by the way, anyone who's been checking first thing in the morning and then giving up, I've made posts every day this week, it's just the F-train is keeping me from getting them up at the usual time, so hit the archive) than today's, though.
Note the ribbon on the car in front of the boys. (Actually, that whole site is pretty good - reminds me of my friend Jan's stuff, except not as well-drawn.)
Something Awful linked to a furry Juggalo's site yesterday. That such a creature exists is mind-boggling to me. The page linked to right there is safe for work, but as this person is both a furry and a fan of the Insane Clown Posse, you may not want to poke around too much.
Happy happy birthday to E!
Big music week for me. We finally got Bright Eyes' two discs in the mail on Monday - I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning is pretty good and I'm trying to figure out Digital Ash in a Digital Urn... so far, I like them both but would have to say Lifted is worlds better - and Trail of Dead's new album came out on Tuesday, which I completely forgot about until yesterday. Now, lo and behold, Jimmy Chamberlin apparently has a CD out. (Interestingly, the Trail of Dead CD draws comparisons to the Pumpkins in that review - sweet.) 2004 was a down year in my music consumption, but with Sleater-Kinney,Andrew WK, Jennifer Lopez, Beck, and the White Stripes all recording or wrapping albums right now, 2005 looks like it will be a bit better. You may now mock my musical taste if you feel the need.
The Jennifer Lopez line was a joke.
That pre-shrunk site that Grafe sent me a few weeks back is nothing short of awesome. They link to Are You Generic, which has nice anti-establishment t-shirts and posters and the like. The resist much one is nice. Oh, and, for some reason, I thought of some t-shirt designs the other day (while sitting in an all-day meeting recapping my company's fiscal performance in 2004). God knows if I'll ever do anything about them, but they're in a notepad somewhere. I guess I should try and get more than 20 people to read this thing, first.
Shame on me - I forgot to mention that the Charlotte weatherman o' craziness in yesterday's post was directed to me by Di, making what I believe is her first contribution to the site. Could be wrong on that one, though.
Read here that teams with human mascots have an excellent record against animal mascots in the Super Bowl. I guess that would have to be true, since the Steelers, Niners and Cowboys are the three teams with the most Super Bowl wins, and the Packers and the Redskins are right behind them (perhaps soon joined by the Patriots). What would the Browns be considered if they won? And the Jets, what are they?
Tree also thought Friday's strip was homoerotic. I will therefore never draw the guys with their shirts off ever again. You can plan on them being mocked for this if there's ever a scene where the gang goes to the beach.
By the way, a few weeks back I clinked a link named 'worst website name ever' for a company called Pen Island. Which comes up in the navigation bar 'penisland.' Now everytime I type in a few letters to go to Penny-Arcade, I get 'penisland' as my first choice. Son of a bitch.
I hate this bird. I have no idea what I'd do with this, but it's kind of cool. (I seem to be in a mood for odd links this week. What's up with that?) This is one of the artists who contributes to that site - the links are a bit weird, but check out the photos of church signs. I love the ones that are arrows pointing to the church. That's hilarious.
