Not much to add to this one, so I'll hop in the way-back machine and talk about Friday's strip. Grafe thinks it was homoerotic. I think it's two dudes getting ready for bed. Pete, as crasher, sleeps on the couch. Ron, the crashee, is facing his guest, sitting on the chest that usually holds the boys' beer. Is this reasonably clear now that it's explained? Although, if Ron and Pete became lovers, that would be another way (alternative to the smack habit) to convince 2.0 that Ron is not me. Or it would cause 2.0 to leave me. Whichever.

So! When I started the site, everyone seemed to get a kick out of the pictures from the RNC protest. In that spirit, I took the camera along to the inauguration protest, and those pictures are up here in the museum. Our experience was pretty tame. No pepper spray, no presidential sightings. We showed up, we rallied, we marched, we went back home and watched the rest of the thing with E on CNN. I thought CNN did a good job giving the protestors a fair amount of time on camera, really. And I loved watching Bush's motorcade speed up whenever they passed by the protestors. What a fucking coward.

Aside from that, we also went to the Hirshhorn and the Museum of Natural History at the Smithsonian. It was funny - the Hirshhorn is the modern art museum, and we ran into a bunch of the protestors there. The Natural History museum has a bunch of dinosaur bones and stuff. We ran into all the Texas high school marching bands there, and their chaperones who were wearing eight tons of fur each. The Hirshhorn, by the way, is really pretty cool. The current exhibit is a Chinese artist whose art is massive fireworks displays. He's evidently done a few in New York - massive things spanning the East River or high above Central Park. I, of course, have been completely oblivious of these occurring. Need to pay more attention. In addition to the huge displays, he also sets off test-runs above paper, and the gun-powder charred paper that results is hung in the Hirshhorn (or whatever museum wants to hang it, I guess). It was something else.

What else to say... E and RAW. We met Molly, RAW's beagle. She warmed up to us a bit, but I think was intimidated by the constant presence of two strangers. E's cats and I got along surprisingly well. And we watched a lot of cable, since we are normally quite deprived of such a wonderful thing.

I won my ten bucks back thanks to the Eagles beating the Falcons the other day. If they pull off the upset, I get $110. Go me.

My neighborhood fared pretty well in the blizzard. Certainly better than my friend Alicia's neighborhood, that of Raleigh-Durham. Apparently, they got an inch of snow last Wednesday or Thursday - Thursday, I think - and the city put into a state of emergency. For fuck's sake! I guess people were abandoning their cars and children had to sleep over at schools. (And I promise to write back today, Alicia.)

RAW sent me the one link for today: Hasselhoff!
