This is an exceedinly old strip that I'm finally getting around to using. I think I was about to launch into a little plotline when the World Series decided to happen, and I just never got back to it. Anyway, just imagine it's not actually January (despite the fact that Jen had her new winter coat on yesterday) and this one goes down a lot easier. Also, let's imagine that Pete did laundry over the weekend, and is just doing a close-by re-wear of the Satan shirt.

As if my closing line yesterday about Josie and the Pussycats being everything Spice World should've been wasn't lame enough, I found something about the Rory Book Club on the Gilmore Girls page yesterday. At the rate I'm going, Pete m'ise well be talking to me - I couldn't chase people away from this site any faster if I were exposing myself to them. I've read a fair chunk of the oldie-but-goodie reading list - the price of being an English major - and some of the new list, too. Maybe it's just me (it probably is), but I read a Confederacy of Dunces over the summer. I don't get it. I mean, yeah, it was funny and all, but I don't know that it's the masterpiece I'm always told it is. I probably didn't get something. My buddy Mooney was in the running for the lead role in the film version, before Will Ferrel jumped in. Not sure if that's still in the works or what. Or if Mooney was just really drunk and making shit up. Could be.

Grafe sent me this yesterday, a blog all about cool t-shirts. God, that's brilliant! Some good stuff and links aplenty in there, including a Brooklyn cow t-shirt that, dammit, doesn't include my neighborhood. Son of a bitch!

Fahrenheit 9/11 won the most vapid award show ever. That almost makes up for Bush getting another term. Or not. Not. Definitely not. Jennifer Garner won the best hair award. How the hell can you tell? Every ad I've ever seen for Alias, she's wearing a wig that looks like it came from Ricky's.

In news that will excite possibly only Tree and myself, Oasis is releasing a new album in May. In news that doesn't even particularly excite me, Garbage is doing the same in April. Meh.

Peyton Manning, upon learning he won the NFL MVP award, did his Tennessee edumacation proud by saying:

Individually, I accomplished a lot in a short period of time. But no question, we did not win a Super Bowl in the time I've been here as a quarterback.

Was there a question of your having won the Super Bowl, Peyton? Because they generally keep pretty good record of this sort of thing, and I didn't think there was. Glad to see that degree in The Obvious is paying off. And is just me or are he and Dungy about to kiss?

Watched the Bachelorette last night. That had to be the lamest show I've ever seen. But we're in it for a while, at least, because that Jerry dude advanced. I'm really glad 2.0 already had a date to the prom, because Jerry is friggin' smooth. Also, lying - 2.0 is outraged at the assertion that he is an art gallery director, or even an artist.
