Ron's mechanical aptitude.

Posted: 6:22 am, Wednesday, March 3

You can totally buy durian fruit about four minutes from my house. I don't have the stones to give it a shot.

Graphic design Wednesday: Internet Overlord posts some beautiful pulp covers, and ktbb posts some "minimalist Star Wars travel posters". I think my favorite is Tatooine. While we're talking Star Wars, here is every second of it, at once. Like that bizarre census ad that's on right now, just... sensical. I saw a similar thing with Vertigo at MoMA over my break, but it wasn't arranged to make a bright spot, it was sequential. I'm almost certain.

Every time my kids are like, "Mista, we all gonna die in two years" (because it'll be 2012), I tell them that the timetable for global warming is a little longer than that. Man, I wish we'd do something about global warming.

The continuing adventures of Now That's What I Call Music, including that weird "Wear Sunscreen" thing.

It'll be nice when I'm not waking up in pitch black again.

So Irish basketball has managed to play themselves back onto the bubble without Gody...for those interested and with cable, they play UConn tonight on ESPN at 7pm. This team actually looks pretty darn good now that the big man is sitting.

Thanks for the tip on the op-ed piece in the Times. Well, other than the soul-sucking depressing nature of the big picture. But, still, good to be reminded that despite the often idiotic level of discourse in politics (on all sides, really--I just had to put up with a primary in Texas, remember), there are things we actually do need to pay attention to.

Did this get posted?

OK Go put up another video on YouTube for This Too Shall Pass--this time it's Rube Goldberg style!

That's an awesome video!

Irish came through last night and beat UCONN... strange thing is that almost immediately afterwards, the ESPN crawl had ND as one of Lunardi's "LAST FOUR IN"... but also included UCONN. I had heard all day that last night was a defacto play-in.

When is Gody supposed to be back?

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 4 2010, 04:21 pm

Brey hinted maybe for Marquette, but I think we're in now. Rest the big guy for Saturday. If we win, we're definitely in, if not, we'll need him rested for our annual one- or two-game trip into the Big East tournament that'll guarantee our spot.

MNP -- Thursday, March 4 2010, 04:53 pm

I think the UConn lost sealed their fate out of the tourney (unless they win the Big East...um...no). I think the ESPN last-4-out thing was prior to the UConn win - although I think we need 1-2 more wins to get us solidly in. Going to be an interesting week or two for Basketball. Oh, and I think Gody may sit til the tourney...sounds like they are being super-cautious (don't want to ruin that NBA career).
