I fucking love that first panel.

Lost in the wake of all my personal stuff was John Allison's announcement that he's shuttering Scary-go-Round in September. SGR was probably my favorite webcomic from 2002-04 or so, with its mystery-ish capers, snazzy vector art, and weird Britishisms. I don't know when it began to lose me, but it did (maybe the inter-dimensional storyline, maybe with his second trip to hand-drawn stuff), and I guess that's the nature of this sort of thing. I've been reading it faithfully, but I've never felt the same die-hard love for it as I did in its first few years. That said, I'm looking forward to whatever Allison will do next.

Two days into the Portland experience, and this is outstanding. There will be much more at a later date, but, right now, it is important to know that the Oregon Brewer's Festival is going on, and also that it is possible to buy a hamburger out here that - in lieu of buns - is in between two grilled cheese sandwiches. FUCK YES.

Yeah, I've had that burger when I was out in Portland. Dear god was that a good burger. I had it while picnicking at the Grotto, and I really thought I would die there after having the grilled cheese burger.

You forgot to mention that our hotel provides tatertots with ranch dressing.

The posters for Joss Whedon's Cabin the Woods are awesome.

Mmm...potatoes with ranch dressing. How is it possible this is such an ideal combination?

Thanks for the poster links, really interesting.
