Violence!

Posted: 8:20 am, Friday, July 3rd

Whooo, summer! I'm typing this in real-time, just back from my run. It's a lovely day here in Brooklyn, New York, and the requisite rain in the forecast is nowhere in sight quite yet (and God bless the rain, because it keeps the murder rate down). I'm glad everyone seemed to like the music Pete hated the other day (or at least the idea of it). I've got a few more mixes thinkin' up, and I'll probably drop one a week over the summer. This has been a strange first week of the summer, since I haven't really relaxed at all. I've had two Shakespeare papers to write in the past week, and 2.0 and I are trying to assemble some stuff for maybe a move, so I had to run some errands in relation to that yesterday, and summer classes at Brooklyn Collitch are still going, so, yeah, I haven't really kicked back to my full slothy potential yet.

Quick grab bag of links - anyone with a heart will probably tear up a bit at this one, so, DFFD, you're excused from the room for a few minutes.

I had never even heard mention of this 'greatest call of Vin Scully's' until the other day, but I have to admit, it is pretty awesome.

You may remember that the principal of the high school I attended was arrested last year. Well, she was arrested again two weeks ago. The Enterprise has the details (about three-quarters the way down). Miss Petrilli was a mean, unhappy woman, but even my vengeful seventh-grade fantasies never went this far.

Related to the rainy murder rate, I linked this map yesterday, but it was pretty late on a non-strip day, so here it is again.

Alright, happy Fourth, guys. I'm trying to put together softball in the park and maybe watch some fireworks and eat a bunch of meat. Hope you do the equivalent, as per your dietary standards.

They filmed this flick in my old neighborhood. I was baffled by how no one could object to a restaurant called "Get On Tapas."

Guys, just a heads-up, the site will likely be late or MIA tomorrow. I'll get word up as fast as I possibly can.

Man, we *loved* that Vin Scully clip. Now I'm really jonesing to hear more old-timey baseball!
