Confessions!

Posted: 12:00 am, Friday, May 29th

This actually came out reasonably close to the way I wanted it to. I am happy with this. That is rare from big moment strips. (Although the one where Jen broke up with Adam remains a favorite of mine.)

Up is the priority for me to see, but I am jazzed at the Drag Me to Hell review up at Pajiba right now. As a dork, I love the Evil Dead flicks. But Up is definitely first on the docket. Thankfully, the nearest theater has a sweet matinee deal, and as it turns out, I'll soon have my days free. (Have I mentioned that at all?)

By the way, how do we feel about the major news of the week, huh? Good? Bad? Ambivalent?

SKT and her fella are running their second half-thon in two weekends - what is wrong with them, you may ask, and I have no satisfactory answer - and it's on Coney. Which means, dogs!

Speaking of SKT and her fella, who are engaged, I have another engaged couple I need to talk about. The Ninjaconsultants, my favorite podcasters who talk about something I have no knowledge of whatsoever - anime - are getting married. In their true awesome nature, they are getting married in zero gravity. They will be the first couple ever wed in zero G, which I can barely believe, and it's going down (and up and down) on the Vomit Comet (the parabolic-flight plane that they filmed Apollo 13 on). Even wilder, evidently Ultima creator Lord British is the one doing their ceremony. I can hardly believe that. Anyway, the Consultants are having a pre-wedding launch party (which seems disingenuous, since they're not actually launching into space that evening) on Tuesday night. The Consultants are awesome people and I love them, and if you're into outer space or Ultima or weird custom-made Japanese zero gravity dresses or anime or anything, hit up the event. I, sadly, have the first session of my grad school class on Shakespeare that evening, but 2.0 may be going. So there's that, too.

I have a feeling Red Dead Redemption is going to be the next game I keep EEEEEEE-ing about. I mean, damn, vultures pick at the dead? That's awesome.

Weekend! I'm hitting Barcade for Midwesterner in New York's 35th tonight, and possibly a party DJed by my buddy Glasses No Glasses or Goggles Goggles or whatever the fuck his blog is called. He DJed a middle-school dance last week, and said it was very much like this, but with sixth and seventh graders, which is horrifying. Less horrifying, the Midwesterner interviewed Zack Morris this past week, and somehow MPG had never been asked why the hell Good Morning Miss Bliss was in Indiana, and Saved by the Bell, with largely the same cast, was in California. Thank God Midwesterner didn't ask him where the hell Tori came from, it may've asploded MPG's head. And, yes, I'm using MPG for Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

On Monday, I will blog about JTT. Five Bucks to Tiger Beat!

There must be some mistake as you didn't mention the biggest news of the day (perhaps the year) - the arrival of Matt Wieters to the majors. Prepare to gaze in wonder.

Said sincerely: Oh, poor Jen.

Joe B -- Friday, May 29 2009, 03:57 pm

Nicely put, and yet, why she's so wrong for Ron. So, she stays in California, keeps the car, and Ron flies back to his future, right? Naah.

Panel 2, for the archive, "UNlike anyone".

Shoot, thanks, Joe B. I'm glad the two of youse like this one.
