I took my first field trip with the kids on Friday, taking just thirteen of them to the MoMA for nothing in particular. It was a lot of fun, and most of them really enjoyed it. 2.0 got to meet most of my favorites (you're a jerk? then you're not coming on a field trip with Mista), and evidently I can carry myself like a teacher while in public. So that's good to know.
I'm giving Twitter a shot. I don't know why. I guess because 2.0 spent half of the afternoon following Adam Savage's feed earlier today. Have we covered this? My wife loves Mythbusters. Like, a lot. It joins samurai and stunt driver as the worrisome career possibilities she has kicked around.
Ms. Cauldron posted this awesome photo series on her Facebook page, and 2.0 really, really liked it. She talked about it enough to get me to get up from my chair and look at it myself, and, I agree. Bad-ass.
That Heineken ad with the attractive racially diverse twentysomethings singing along to Biz Markie in the cab? They need to be slurring their words. Like, just totally shitfaced. Then it would be an ad.
I've never really gotten Prince. Is this a personal failing? I have no qualms with those who declare him great, and I actually like his music, I just can't fathom how this dude was a cultural phenomenon at any point.
I hate that I can't embed video from the MLB site (wtf, guys?), or you'd be seeing Jacoby & Meyers stealing home against the Goat Fuckers last night. The best thing about it is basically everything, but if I had to pick one aspect of the straight steal of home with a left-hander at the plate so that Posada should've seen it coming in game three of a sweep, it would be that Jacoby actually had to slide really awkwardly into home plate because he needed to slow up so that he didn't get hit by the pitch, because his jump was so tremendous. He was getting there the *exact* same time as the pitch. God, that's good stuff.
What am I teaching tomorrow? I have no idea.
