Comic for Friday, February 13, 2009

Dammit, Ron, pick up after yourself.

Posted: 6:25 am, Friday, February 13th

The first craptacular review for the new Friday the 13th movie is in, which sadly doesn't surprise me. Nothing Michael Bay touches is ever any good. How hard is it to do a fun slasher flick? I wasn't expecting much, but a D is a bit low for me in these troubled times. We may've just gone from matinee to Netflix. More disappointing is my boy Clive in a C+ review of the International. I guess we're looking at Coraline and that's about it.

In New York, we have a lovely thing called "Midwinter Recess" that begins this afternoon, which means I get to kick back and relax for the next week. Which is great, because I've got a fierce sore throat today.

Friend TeaVee is stage managing a production that opens tonight, so 2.0 and I are taking in some more culture. We saw Eugene Onegin at the Met Opera to kick the week off, and we'll be finishing with Kaspar Houser, a foundling's opera - wait, seriously? I'm seeing another opera? Yowza.

The Onion is having a lot of fun with the Goat Fuckers' third baseman.

Happy weekend, crowd, see you on Monday when things will happen and feelings will be hurt and worlds will change.

Oh no. Oh dear.

And it's Jen. Now we have to wait until Monday.

The Irish finally broke their losing streak! by putting the smackdown on Louisville - 33 points. Now they just have to keep it up to someone salvage a March Madness bid.

Ted's Head -- Friday, February 13 2009, 09:44 am

Haha. That A-Rod article was awesome. The only thing that would make me happy in all of this is if it comes out that Derek "Golden Boy" Jeter is on that list of 104 players. That would be fucking spectacular.

DFFD -- Friday, February 13 2009, 10:28 am

I'm really hoping that Curt Schilling is on that list of 104. That would be just perfect for me. He's due for a fall of that giant soapbox of his.

Ondy -- Friday, February 13 2009, 12:01 pm

Being a Jason fan, I figure you wouldn't put any stock into the reviews, since they are consistently rated terrible. It looks like AVClub rated the Zombie remake of Halloween only a C, but I would say that one at least a B.

TeaVee -- Friday, February 13 2009, 02:03 pm

OOH! You're coming to Kaspar Hauser? When can I expect your happy faces? It's more of a musical then an opera, really. Or just weird. Here's to hoping I don't screw it up!

2.0 -- Friday, February 13 2009, 02:13 pm

Tonight! We are coming tonight! Is there still room?

Since there's no links in these spams, I'm leaving them, which allows me to ask "What is Tyler Durden clothing?"
