Oh, Jen, why?

Posted: 6:30 am, Friday, September 12th

It would probably help me get everybody on the same page with the new schedule if I actually stuck with it for a full week - well, that's exactly what I'ma do! Next week, we're doing M-W-F, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Really brief post today, though, because I've got to go finish packing for a wedding, get some stuff together for my insurance, and gather all the stuff I'll need to work on over the weekend while at the wedding. This is 5 of 6 on the year, for those scoring at home, and will see my buddy Sco-double-T celebrate his marriage to the loverly and talent Aim-double-E. The Thoroughly Unpleasant One will be on hand, in addition to several of the other commentors on this site, although I honestly haven't done a very job being prepared for this wedding, what with getting a job and then working 13-hour days or whatever.

Um, OK, schedule, check; wedding, check... Oh, the New Yorker had this good article on Palin being a bad person, and also that the people in Alaska don't even like her, so that's nice. Anybody watch her interrogation at the hands of Chaz Gibson last night? This part from the Times brought me great pleasure:

At times visibly nervous, at others appearing to hew so closely to prepared answers that she used the exact same phrases repeatedly, Ms. Palin most visibly stumbled when she was asked by Mr. Gibson if she agreed with the Bush doctrine. Ms. Palin did not seem to know what he was talking about.

Alright, that seems to be everything. Let's drop a little Dead Schembechlers (crap, they took away the audio) and a

Go Irish! Beat Wolverines!

and begone.

51 -- I introduced my friend Melissa AND my sister Melissa to Andrew Sullivan, and now they're both hooked. That's after you got me addicted to him in the primaries. . . . The political blogging is catching.

To the Irish faithful, I have a couple words of advice! Beware of UNC.

MJL -- Friday, September 12 2008, 12:55 pm

If I'm reading the odds correctly, the Irish are 2-point under-dawgs.

(I tend not to bet on sports, but I like to rely on Vegas to tell me how far I should get my hopes up.)

Miyaa -- Friday, September 12 2008, 02:14 pm

Heard a "Professional Vegas Bookie" say that basically Michigan & Notre Dame will come down to Clausen being able to throw over the top of the Wolverine safeties and cornerbacks. If Clausen can, ND will win. (Either way, he suggests you take Michigan -2½.)

I also heard from ABCNews some political guy spouting that Ferraro bumped up the numbers in the 1980 election, but in about four weeks time, that faded back to where it was pre-Ferraro. So, I would expect something similar to happen in the McCain-Palin camp.

Bullfrog -- Friday, September 12 2008, 03:47 pm

Michigan's safety play is abysmal, especially over the middle. I remember back to last week, when we ran exactly 0 passing plays over the middle, and I become encouraged.

Muck Fichigan!

So, what do you think Bo Schembechler would do tomorrow if he were alive?

My guess: Scratch frantically at the inside of his coffin.

Go Irish, Beat Michigan (sucks)!

Miyaa -- Saturday, September 13 2008, 06:55 pm

Weis has an ACL and MCL tear in his leg after getting rolled over after a play I think in the 3rd quarter. Apparently he commented after the game, "Brady got nothing on me."
