Evasion!

Posted: 6:30 am, Monday, September 8th

Man, that's the last time you'll ever see a cupcake joke in *these* parts. What a shit effort for 50 minutes of that game. I've calmed down considerably since Saturday evening, but, man, just an atrocious display of football for most the game.

So, evidently, if you have 100 students and a third of them write one essay and two thirds of them write two essays, even if they barely write more than two paragraphs for the essay, that takes approximately one (1) weekend to grade. Holy hell, did I not get to do much yesterday. I did rock through most of Bionic Commando: Rearmed early on Saturday so that was a good time. The game's as good as the rumors, and awfully funny, also. Hope to see more stuff along these lines in the future - oh, right, we are. (I was way better with the bionic arm back in the 8-bit era.) (Also note that it's "most of" - I haven't seen who replaces Hitler's exploding head yet, so, please, no spoilers.)

Why, you may be asking, are Lissa and Ron discussing last month's news? Well, for one, I haven't seen any news since the DNC. But also, I've kind of touched on the other big news item of the day, like Palin. So I have to bring up her fucking aerial wolf gunning in the blog. What the bloody fuck is this nonsense? God, it just gets more pathetic by the fact. Sinfest has this to say. (Another, less cartoon-y response, here. And then a mouth-breather completely misinterpreting why us left-leaners are up in arms over this bullshit. You won't want to read the entire thing, trust me.)

Oh, fuck my eye, I didn't even know about *this* shitstorm. God, they have no fucking shame.

Final housekeeping note, I got a notice saying my hold on this domain has expired. Thankfully, I couldn't find a link to renew the name, but I'm working on it - if you come here in the next day or two and get an angry white page, uh, well, hopefully it won't be for long.

Alright, took care of that. Sweet. Five Bucks is up for another dos anos.

Miyaa -- Monday, September 8 2008, 11:07 am

I'm thinking the Notre Dame v. Michigan game this week will probably set college football back thirty years.

todd -- Monday, September 8 2008, 02:45 pm

Thirty years ago we were pretty good, so I'll take it.

Bullfrog -- Monday, September 8 2008, 10:10 pm

I agree wholeheartedly, Todd.

Wood -- Tuesday, September 9 2008, 06:52 pm

Two part post:

1) I never knew how much the new five bucks schedule would fuck up my morning. It's blowing my mind.

2) If it takes an aenimic football season from both teams to get a win against Michigan I will take it. I aim to be "escorted" from the stadium somewhere during halftime. Maryland football games arent as much fun as Irish games... go figure.

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, September 9 2008, 08:19 pm

I'm sorry, man. If it's any consolation, I dislike the schedule myself. There's just simply no way for me to do five a week anymore. For the time being, we're hitting M-W-F, and I'm going to try and have one on this Thursday - probably a modified Five and Dime - for the 9/11 installment. I'm leaving toward a guaranteed three a week and aiming for four every once in a while.

We will beat Michigan this week. Stone.

How do I know this? I know this because I will not be able to watch the game, because I will be at a wedding. A wedding of two Domers. One of whom is a lurker here. It's OK, Dbunz. Much love.

Miyaa -- Tuesday, September 9 2008, 08:30 pm

Look on the bright side, at least Notre Dame didn't get their uniforms from the Nike rep as did the Idaho Vandals. Not only did they lose 70 - 0 the first week, they discovered that their team's logo decals were put in a prime viewing location, so to speak:

http://www.idahostatesman.com/235/story/493284.html

They'll go logoless against their archrivals, Idaho State.

Miyaa -- Tuesday, September 9 2008, 08:31 pm

I mean they went logo-less against Idaho State, and won 42-27.
