Got a big job fair this afternoon to try and procure myself some employment come September, so think happy internet thoughts for me around four thirty or so. And again at about seven, when the fair ends, that the bocce court at Floyd's is open, because I'm going to try and lead the charge over thataway. Won't stay too late, of course, because I don't have tomorrow's strip drawn yet, but one little ol' Crapucopia never hurt nobody.
Thank God baseball is back tonight. Man, the All-Star break is murder. Good thing the Sox kick things off at ten at night, because I really ought to be able to stay up for a lot of that. Dammit.
I love that the lack of ethics is a punchline for these fuckers. Oh, and ending life as we know it on earth, that, too. Did you guys hear that one? Shitwit ended the G8 with 'goodbye from the world's biggest polluter'? Happened over the weekend, but since I'm barely around, I've forgotten to mention it a lot.
Money people on the site: I hear this is a good investment. Talk to me. (Yeah, that's right - financial advice on Five Bucks to Friday. Hell has frozen over.)
You know, honestly, I was more excited for Fallout 3 before I saw these clips. That's weird. I am amped for this, though. And anyone who picks up '09, lemme know.
Likin' the new AD so far.

Bullfrog -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 06:49 am 51 checked in last yesterday with an All-Star game report, in case anyone missed it:
- Yes, aeeing all those hall of famers in person was pretty supercool. - Wow do they ever want your money over at yankee stadium. I mean, all stadiums do, I suppose, but their pricing for souvenirs, etc, just felt out of this world ($75 for a TSHIRT! $200 face price on my upper deck ticket). - Lots of fan diversity. Mostly yankees fans, but there were some (super-excited!) Tampa Bay fans, Red Sox fans, Pirates fans, etc, in the rows around us. - There was a "beers of the world" stand too! Not as awesome as Pittsburgh's microbrew area, (they were all bottled, not on tap) but it was nice to have the option of Blue Moon. The roaming beer guys only gave out Coors Lites though. - The bleacher creatures over in right field crack me up. I'm sorry, they're just so much fun. (Am I allowed to say that on this site?) - This is not news to anyone, I'm sure, but Cotton Eyed Joe is the stupidest stadium singalong/dance-off/whatever possible. Geez. - I think my favorite part was actually the fanfest at javits center earlier in the day - the best part was the buys/sell/trade collectors area. I had so much fun poking through old bobbleheads, commemorative pins and signed baseballs. I almost bought a signed Bob Forsch ball, but I decided that $30 would be better spent on beer.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 06:52 am If you're not in New York or Boston, and especially if you're not a baseball fan, you may not have been aware of some insane anger directed at Paps for wanting to close the All-Star game. The Daily News did its best to rile up some bile. Human Goiter-Sox Fan deconstructs it very nicely:

zero -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 08:19 am You realize you're waiting until FRIDAY at 10pm for the Sox game, right? Because 3 days without real baseball isn't enough, so it's a light schedule tonight.
'A YF' at YFSF migh be the biggest troll I've evr seen on the interwebs. What an angry, lost soul he must be.

Zero -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 08:30 am So, with Fallout 3, they weren't confident enough that the rabid fans would be happy with the old, beloved combat system, so they made it kinda-sorta an FPS?
Weak.
I did see Dogmeat, though. And the Pipboy3000, so there's hope.

2.0 -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 10:24 am That Dr. Horrible Sing-a-Long Blog thing is pretty awesome. Thanks CK!
Gunnar -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 10:27 am Re: Fallout 3.
One of the guys on Wired got to play the first 30 minutes. Said the visuals and gameplay are great, but the dialogue is no better than Oblivion. That's pretty much ruined my day.
Coach -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 12:18 pm Beers of the World at Yankee Stadium is absurd. You can get Yuengling there. Yuengling is located Pottsville, PA! That is my college beer... absurd! I guess the world is 200 miles away....
51 -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 12:26 pm Yes, "beers of the world" was totally an exaggeration. But I don't think shea has anything like that, right? I couldn't even find brooklyn lager anymore when I went to the mets game on sunday night.
Miyaa -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 03:52 pm I agree with Papellbon. These days, All-Star games/honors, especially in the middle of the season, are simply worthless.
Pete -- Thursday, July 17 2008, 04:39 pm At least Bush didn't insult the Italians! Oh, wait...my bad

This isn't even moderately funny anymore.
