Clearly, Pete's making friends.

Posted: 6:50 am, Wednesday, July 2nd

Goodness, group, I am tired tired tired. I also still need to finish editing an essay before driving off to school in 25 minutes or so. So, uh, yeah, once again, it's the kids who suffer. Sorry! I will say that my first day of teaching summer school was pretty, uh, noneventful. 4 of the 54 kids I was supposed to have in class the first session didn't show, and a big 0 for 25 in the second session. Aside from that, fucking Red Sox, win a game. And then there's this Drank stuff, which is a word I have tremendous difficulty with. (That word being the past tense of 'drink'.)

I think he actually means 50 of the 54 didn't show. At least that's how he told it to me last night.

The poor dear, he's running himself into the ground.

Teaching becomes quite an adventure when you're never quite sure who's going to show on any given day. And resist the urge not to plan one day because you're sure they won't show up-- That will be the day they all choose to come.

Good luck!

Yeah, that's what I meant. There were not a lot of synapses firing when I wrote the post today.

Feeling good at one o'clock, though, which is a lot better than I can say for yesterday!

And oh good, I've been accepted by the DOE. That's right, after getting into the Fellows, I still had to apply to the DOE. Up next, getting a school to teach at! They don't make this easy.

Next thing you know, they'll make you go back to school to get an education degree.
