And then they die.

Posted: 12:45 am, Tuesday, May 27th

I can't believe I left the site for a long weekend with a Little Jacob-ish rastaism or some pale imitation thereof. I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend and remembered the soldiers who've gone on, and also grilled something and maybe played some bocce. I did all four.

The quest for an apartment continues, and we keep finding one crappier than the next. So that's exciting.

Also exciting, I need to get on my horse about some of this teaching stuff. I need to be fingerprinted and read some books and stuff, I guess. Also, I figure I may try to get a hold of a few of my old teachers. What made me think of this? This AV Club article about humorous songs, because my trig teacher back in the day introduced himself by referencing Denis Leary's Asshole song, which still has not lost its charm to me.

That is some awesome stuff.

Also, I love the homeboy, you all know this, but he is dead fucking wrong about salt and vinegar potato chips. This may finally be the thing Hillary can attack without lying about snipers or bringing up dead Kennedys.

Two other political goodies - I don't know who the hell Michelle Malkin is, but, yeah, this is nuts; and if I had to not go to a Saints game, at least I didn't not go to a Saints game the day they were giving this out. Awesome.

Alright, I'm off to get fingerprinted, I guess, and then show up for a softball game with the old company. Ted's Head, don't say anything, we'll see if we can convince a few of 'em I've been to central booking.

I wish Hillary would bring up the Dead Kennedys. They really haven't been the same since Jello Biafra split the scene. Where is today's "Texas Uber Alles"? We need a public forum on the state of "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables".

Asshole was the first song I learned to play on my guitar that didn't come out of a lesson book.

Thanks, Pat - it was getting late and I couldn't come up with anything even vaguely appropriate playing off of the Dead Kennedys.

I was so tired I didn't even make a connection between my trig teacher introducing himself to Asshole and the fact that I'ma teach soon. (Well, I did, but only in my head - I forgot to share it with the rest of the class.)

I'll keep quiet on your booking. Apparently, this is becoming quite the collector's item:

Ah, the Saint Paul Saints. Unique promotions and social commentary since 1980, or thereabout.

American's best sportswriters has created the term "jeterating," excessively praising someone for something for which they are entirely unworthy of praise. Awesome.

I particuarly how Joe thinks Bobby Abreu's mind is thinking about cookies as he's trying to run the bases.
