Nothing like a Chipwich. NOTHING.

Posted: 7:40 am, Friday, April 11th

Today's milestone birthday is actually tomorrow's, but since there's no updatin' on the weekends: Happy birthday, Di! I believe she's 21.

We had a big discussion after dinner last night about which one of us, me or 2.0, would do better in the zombie apocalypse. I think I could survive longer based on my ability to run much further, and also to drive a stickshift. I do know that I am terribly inaccurate with handguns, unless somehow not firing a pistol in over twelve years has really honed my skills. 2.0 just took twenty seconds to come up with she can think better and more quickly under pressure. I will miss her brains when the zombies eat them.

For some reason, embedding has been disabled on this video, but I thought of the Weapon of Choice video yesterday for the first time in a long time, and, man, that's a great video.

Big news yesterday is that the Irish edged Michigan in OT in the Frozen Four, and now go on to continue taking care of business that the football team ignored - they face Boston Collitch tomorrow night for great justice. Too bad we're not playing North Dakota, we could reclaim our interlocking ND from them.

Also from the SB Trib, apparently the Homeboy stopped by the Bend the other day.

Vanity Fair called a good bunch in 1999 as up-and-comers in Hollywood.

A-a-a-a-and... That's probably about it. If the rain holds, I'm dropping in on the red panda with my parents again today, and if it doesn't, I have no idea what I'm going to do with them. Go Irish, beat Eagles!

I also happen to be very skilled at archery.

Your survival depends, of course, on your skill with your LOBO.

If that makes no sense you should probably read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_Z

which turned out to be a much better book than I expected. Cleverly approached, very creative.

I'll have to check that out. Is it a ranged weapon?

2.0's mom -- Friday, April 11 2008, 10:40 am

Somehow I missed the archery skills honing.

2.0 -- Friday, April 11 2008, 11:06 am

Well MOM, I took archery in high school four years in a row. It was offered in gym. I liked it because you didn't have to change into gym clothes, and you got to go outside (read: smoke). In that time I managed to garner a fair amount of respect among my teachers and peers.

Anywho, in an unofficial poll a fair majority of folks felt that Jeremiah would take an unnecessary chance and try to outrun the zombies. Logical *me* would stay home, bow and arrow in hand, and wait them out.

Also I am better at building things, fixing mechanical devices, and figuring out if the milk has gone bad. All very important survival skills.

At least the NCAA had the sense this year to up their standard championship trophy from a plaque to something that actually looks like a trophy. Although I think keeping in tradition of hockey, the men's and women's hockey championship ought to be a gigantic trophy they get to keep for about a year.

Have all of bars in Di's vicinity been alerted that she's probably coming in tomorrow?

Dan -- Friday, April 11 2008, 11:32 am

Is Ron eating a Chipwich? That's pretty sweet.

Bullfrog -- Friday, April 11 2008, 06:30 pm

That is indeed a Chipwich. I love the things - one of the three available links under "food."

Dan -- Saturday, April 12 2008, 10:19 pm

And I would have realized it, too, had I paid attention to the placeholder text, which did say something about Chipwhichs.
