Is it clear yet that I've never been to a one-woman show?

Posted: 7:25 am, Thursday, March 20th

This is a pretty sweet Jiisus. "Come and follow Mii." That's great. And, holy shit, are the commentors on Kotaku stupid sometimes. Don't read the comments.

Holy crap, Michael Cera is going to play Scott Pilgrim?! That is awesome. Scott Pilgrim is sometimes quite awkward in the books, but is usually pretty brash, so hopefully Cera can, you know, actually do that. But, damn. I am so excited by this news. I again beseech you to read Scott Pilgrim.

Boy, I totally want to.. party.. with some Columbia business students... now...

Five years. God, I can't believe it's been five years. (Yes, yes, I missed the actual five years. Shut up.)

Pretty freaking sweet endowment to the Whitney yesterday. The Biennial is going on right now - I'm sure 2.0 and I will hit it in the not-too-distant future (next Sunday AD?) and I'll report accordingly.

OK, the Rage concert turned out to be pretty good, but nothing mind-shattering. Right now, though, I'm three tracks into this Dylan show from '81, when he was in his gospel stage, and it is a freaking amazing performance, unlike anything I've ever heard from the Grand Bard of the 20th Century ever before. Highly recommended. I've got to permanently put that site on the links, it's always reliable.

At the very end of this article, there's an awesome bit that the homeless dudes are now asked for money so they can be like Spitzer. (Also, the article's a good rundown of all the gubernatorial bizarrity going on 'round these parts lately. I think I find the Greevey threesomes after dinner at TGIFriday's to be the saddest part.)

Irish! Patriots! Tonight! Ten o'clock on CBS! God! Go Irish!

I'm almost expecting a SNL fake-commercial about "Governors Gone Wild" video.

Did you see where they almost didn't Boston ready to play their opening season games in Japan unless their trainers and medical staff were guaranteed a $40K bonus for making the trip? Considering how much everyone else gets paid, I would held out for $80K. And why is Boston starting their regular season games in Japan? Tokyo will be a rocking when Dice-K comes a knockin'.

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 09:29 am

I guess just for the general interest of globalizing MLB? I question it being against the A's. Why not have the Sox and the Mariners open the season over there? Daisuke v. Ichiro? Moth-Ra and Gamera could both attack and nobody would notice.

Miyaa -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 10:46 am

Hell, Moth-Ra and Gamera would watch the game it if were Daisuke v. Ichiro.

It doesn't look like Michigan and Florida aren't going to get their primaries redone in time.

Funny, funny, ha, ha. But geez, they probably could've found a Chicago charity that could've used the old car.

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 01:48 pm

I guess they are auctioning off bits and pieces for charity, right? I guess they passed the second stage of Final Fight and got the bonus level.

Anyone? Bueller?

RAW -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 02:40 pm

"Oh, my car."

Pat -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 03:19 pm

I want to thank you for linking to "So?" by Cheney. I agree with the first commenter who noted how it sums up, in one syllable, the VP's attitude toward the Constitution, the war, and the American people in general.

And how long did it take you to grow those sideburns?

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 03:26 pm

Not too long. That actually happened back in '02, The Summer in Which I Found My Style (So To Speak). I bought some decent-looking glasses and got really lazy about shaving. Kids (and bartenders) love me - they call me Wolverine all the time.

I knew I could count on RAW.

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 03:27 pm

Cheney really just in a head-scratcher, isn't he? Have we ever had a two-term VP not even consider running for the presidency before? He clearly holds the Constitution and the American people in sheer contempt, and yet he bothered to be a VP pulling all the strings instead of, like, the Cigarette-Smoking Man or something and doing it all behind the scenes.

Ted Williams' Head -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 03:40 pm

Cheney also hates American soldiers. And he has funny eating habits. http://www.thepeoplesdanceparty.com/old/10-28/images/cheneybaby.jpg

2.0 -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 04:33 pm

A lot of people get there superhero wrong and call him Spiderman. Lincoln is another incorrect fan favorite--who was more often clean shaven and is known more for his beard than sideburns. I can only guess they really mean Chester A. Arthur.

My gram wanted him to shave them for the wedding. I said no.

CK -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 04:40 pm

I am going to embarrass occasional commenter KTBB and announce that her dissertation (on the medieval Friar Felix Fabri) has just been accepted for publication by Oxford University Press. Yay KTBB!

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 05:22 pm

Congrats, ktbb!

The best, Pat, was when some fifteen-year old approached me in the DC Greyhound station and asked me, "Are you famous?" I figure she must've thought I was, I don't know, in Weezer or something.

Why a famous person would be taking Greyhound into DC, I have no idea.

Bullfrog -- Thursday, March 20 2008, 11:40 pm

Whooo, Irish!
