Sorry, squad, but basically nothing for ya today. Was away from my desk a lot yesterday, and out late last night. I do have a hearty go Irish, beat ... Shoot, it had to be Marquette, didn't it? What the hell are they these days, the Eagles? I know they were the Gold for a bit, which was ridiculous.

Oh, this strip is a pretty clear lift from a really, really old Fox Trot in which Andy gets a haircut. Big ups, Bill Amend! And I will very likely never do the subtle ziptone dots in the background - more effort than it was worth.

I used to think salons was an expensive way to say "barbershop for women." Then I went to a salon to get a haircut with my mother. The hot facial towel treatment and hot mint shampoo are so worth the $20. (Next month: highlighters to enhance my naturally mahogany red hues.)

I also can't believe how many people actually get a subscription to hairstyling only magazines like "Short Hair."

Reminds me of the SNL mock commercial about the Infinity Q45 heated toilet seat with optional cup holder. I also saw you can actually purchase something called the "iRoll", a toilet paper roll with a plug-in and speakers so you can play your iPod while on the John. It's on Amazon somewhere.

MJL actually sent me an e-mail about the iRoll the other day, lamenting that I'd already gotten my wedding gift from him. That is just wild.

I have been told that I am an idiot, and in fact MJL made that comment in this very space. Whatever, it's a trying week at Five Bucks World HQ.

Dammit, I haven't seen last week's episode yet. And I'm going to miss tonight's, too. Oh well, I'll just catch 'em on the web while waiting for Battlestar Season 3 from Netflix next week.

Bullfrog, you never gave any feedback on The Wire. If you've stopped watching this show, I don't know that I'll be able to forgive you.

I guess you haven't heard that they've come up with a BSG finale? "The Final Revelation" they're calling it. April 4th, and I wish Sci-Fi didn't know my e-mail address.

Slow progress on the Wire, dude - we're only five episodes in. But we're continuing, no fears.

I knew April 4th was the start of the fourth season of BSG - I'm hoping we can get caught up in time for it.

I'm following the G'Town-Nova game on CNNSI right now, and the in-game chat is a bunch of geniuses talking about Spitzer's hooker. More entertaining than the game.

I read the toilet-stuck woman was wearing sweatpants. To me, sweatpants > mullet as indicator of white-trashiness. To all the readers here, when is the last time you wore sweatpants? I can't remember the last time I owned a pair. If I work out in the winter, I wear track pants, which are notably different.

I give Spitzer's hooker decent marks. A bit of a strange nose, but that photo of her in a bikini was a nice news-industry present.

Enough sexism and classism for me today.

Jeremiah has blue sweatpants. I don't find them terrible, though if he were to wear them outside I might feel differently.

Somehow, despite my Western New York upbringing, I never owned a pair of legitimate sweatpants in my life. Where I am from, sweatpants are totally appropriate weekend wear. That is unless its football season...then it's those weird team themed pants that taper around the ankle (usually Buffalo Bills red and blue).

Sweatpants are a completey acceptable "vetement" for the weekend. (Random juxtaposition of a funny French word and sweatpants to prove I'm not a total Millbilly from Pittsburgh)...

I should wear sweatpants less often than I do, which is a lot.

It's true! I own a pair of sweatpants. I do not wear them out of the house, though. Also, I own no bathrobe, which is their basic function. I pull them on when I get up to write early in the morning when it's too chilly in the apartment for shorts.

Before this pair, uh, probably when I was maybe in fifth grade? Third? It's been a while.

Well I have to admit that my version is an over-sized pair of green Adidas track pants. They're huge, and they're not cute. Also I don't own anything which matches, and I usually wear these with a pair of leopard print slippers. I admit it. Whatever.

Pete, why the Pittsburgh hate? And for the record, the word is "yinzer". I've never heard of a Milbilly. Please elaborate.

Funny that you mention French words and Pittsburgh. We have North Versailles, pronounced "north ver-SAYLES", yet we can pronounce "Duquesne" correctly.

I think I've mentioned this, but when the Steelers were in the Super Bowl a few years back, I went about trying to find a six of IC Light to drink while watching the game (the Bus!). I met with no success anywhere in Brooklyn. Months later, I was at the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and for some unfathomable reason, the three beers they have in the cafeteria are Brooklyn Lager, Amstel Light and IC Light. Blew my mind.

I believe I have actually not only worn sweatpants in public, but to the Bullfrog/2.0 abode. I bet my mother would have something to say about that.

Nothing but love for the Burgh - lifetime resident. Just addressing our rather high percentage of mullets and sweatpants...both of which I've had the privilege to sport in my day.

Millbilly is kind of a mix between a true city Yinzer and one from the French "provinces" (Versailles, Charleroi, etc.) in the Mon Valley.
