Comic for Thursday, February 28th, 2008

Posted: 7:55 am, Thursday, February 28th
Just thought I'd try something a little different in the middle of the week, for no clear reason. I like it on Mara more than I like it on the boys, but it may be mostly Ron's shirt that I'm not digging. Anyway, I haven't drawn tomorrow's strip yet, so I'm not sure when we'll be seeing this again. Could be tomorrow, could be Monday, could be never. Who knows.
I’ve been forcibly trying to keep myself from e-mailing RAW every time I chuckle at the Left Behind commentary from Slacktivist. The best part about this is that it’s not just irono-hipster mockery, but someone who really has a pretty firm grasp on their theology. This entry is pretty theology-thin, but, man, it really just speaks to how awesome of people the guys who write Left Behind must be. Also, thanks to this whole little project, I've now heard of the Shaanxi earthquake of 1556, the deadliest day in the history of the earth, evidently, chalking up a massive 830,000 folks. Holy crap!
The reformed Pumpkins have made a video to a non-album track that, had it made the cut, probably would've been the best song on Zeitgeist. Billy Corgan needs an editor, badly. (I have no comment on the video, I was typing this while just listening to the music.)
And that's about it, really. I guess February is not only the quietest month for sports, but the quietest month on the interweb, too, or at least amongst the sites I hit up. Hopefully today will be a bit more excitin'. Finally caught up on last week's Lost, too - saw the twist end coming about fifteen minutes into it. I want a cookie.

Miyaa -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 01:10 pm That didn't take long for the Cards to go from decent to sub-.500. (Bye, Spezio.)
Maybe Cooking Mama could provide you with a wii bit of hot chocolate?
Bullfrog -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 01:41 pm It's Wii, not so Wii, and frickin' UGE!
Bullfrog -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 01:42 pm Dear God, the list of Spezio's charges reads like Kate's court hearing on Lost last week.
crownover -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 02:04 pm Because you got "sex and candy" stuck in my head yesterday, here's another college blast from the past - "But wait...what about Breakfast at Tiffany's? Yes, Deep Blue Something are apparently on the comeback road. They play Southpaw tonight; bask in the glow of one-hit-wonderness."
Bullfrog -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 02:11 pm Dude, that wasn't even collitch - that was like junior year, I think. "And I said, the world has come between us. Our lives have come between us. And you just, don't care. And then I said what about Breakfast at Tiffany's, and you said, you thought you remembered the film, and I said as I recall, I think we both kinda liked it and you said, well that's the one thing we've got." No lyric search. What a brutal song.
crownover -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 02:15 pm it came out in high school, but U93 definitely played it for years to come...
Miyaa -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 05:01 pm Not quite as brutal as the song I recently heard about a guy wanting a "girl with the long jacket, (la la laa la)" then followed by a solo trumpet. Actually, since he was speaking and not singing, I can't quite actually say that it was actually a song.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 06:36 pm No way, man! If you're talking about Cake's "I want a girl with a short skirt and looooooooooong jacket," you're totally wrong. That song is awesome.
Miyaa -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 06:55 pm That's the song.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, February 28 2008, 11:15 pm Dude, that song is awesome! I don't know. I mean, she's trading her MG for a white Chrylser LeBaron.
