2.0 and I are digging the hell out Mario Galaxy right now, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's warped my perception of the world to the degree that Katamari Damacy once did. Possibly because I have no way of perceiving the world as a series of tiny planets that I can run around. Until now.
See, it's funny because we're all going to die in glacier run-off. I enjoy 60-degree days in January as much as the next guy, bu - actually, no, I don't. It's January. It's supposed to be cold. I can't fucking stand Linda Church telling me how awesome it is that it's 65 on January 8th. Hello, Al Gore, people! God.
As much as I absolutely loved my Notre Dame years, there were, you know, some disappointments. Robert Edwin Davie, Jr., obviously. More than that, though, the two biggest disappointments on a grand scale were 1) the utter lack of reveling in the streets in the wake of the upset of Michigan in the opener my junior year and 2) the failure of Midnite Vultures to become the huge party hit of my senior year. That one just never ceases to gall me. Looking back at the Sexx Laws video, maybe it's just because Beck was trying a bit too hard in this video. But maybe it was the continued awful fucking influence of the Dave Matthews Band. Who can say for sure?
I don't think God listens to Slayer. But I ran that signature of God's from the Big Bang billboard through a handwriting analyzing thing on-line, and these were the results:
- You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
- You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
- You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented.
- You are not very reserved, impatient, self-confident and fond of action.
- You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.
1, 3 and 5 sound like the big man. 2 is off, and I don't really understand 4. So I guess that may actually be a note from God. Although the Almighty would not use improper capitalization, I would hope.

e -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 08:55 am I think you could argue that 2 applies - it was the greek gods that were intimate with humans... The Christian God is only known for one intimate relationship in thousands of years.
skt -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 08:58 am i take offense at the midnite vultures oversight. it was on CONSTANT rotation at 808.
also - analyzing god's script...well played, that is hilarious.
Miyaa -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 08:59 am Who's this Linda Church?
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 09:12 am God's not shy, though. I mean, I guess he (He) has been in recent years, but there was the whole Old Testament when he (He) was pretty balls to the wall.
Linda Church is the weather gal on Channel 11 in the City.
Skitters, you ladies were just cutting fucking edge, what can I say? And I got my stitches out all by myself, by the way, thanks for the instructions you left me. I'm really glad I did that myself instead of paying a copay - took me under a minute.
crownover -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 09:25 am this explains so much about Michigan - http://www.umich.edu/news/index.html?BG/317descr
drolett -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 10:16 am we at 808 did like to mix business with leather, it is true.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 10:36 am I believe "bangin' like an 808" was actually a lyric on that album.
Pop-lockin' beats like Korea. Lookin' like a hot date, bangin' like an 808.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 11:01 am Nice letter from Carlson in the current ND Mag, evidently.

Pat -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 01:24 pm Tom Araya from Slayer describes himself as an observant Catholic, and that Slayer's lyrics to him don't count against his religion. I tend to have a liberal interpretation of Christianity, but making a claim like that when your band's tracks include "God Hates Us All", "Christ Illusion", "Darkness of Christ" and "God Send Death" might be a bit of a stretch.
"Angel of Death" has some bad-ass riffs though.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 01:36 pm That is some random knowledge, dude.
Pat -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 01:49 pm It's not random -- it's METAL.
ad -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 01:54 pm As to God listening to Slayer... Maybe He just got really sick of all that harp music and the choirs of angels and was looking for something a little... different. Just a thought.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, January 9 2008, 02:02 pm I meant knowing the professed religion of Araya.
One thing's for sure, He sure as fuck doesn't listen to DC Talk.
