I mentioned the Verve comeback yesterday, and KT linked to a page with this video, but I thought I'd embed it, too. You have no idea how tempting it is for me to do this on Fifth Ave whenever this song comes on shuffle.
Oh, MJL, we've got some stubble. Better?
Stereogum gives a quick recap of what made the summer of '94 so awesome. They forgot to mention the debut of TV Nation, me getting my driver's license, and me getting my awesomest hat ever, the one that's the link to the museum over on the left. God, I love that hat.
I know, I know, it's hard to believe this, but Ann Coulter comes off as not very intelligent when Elizabeth Edwards calls into Hardball the other day to tell her to stop being so damn mean.
I'm not watching this show, but, Goddamn, Shaq is awesome.
And, since I've got to run, here's - well, I'm not sure what it is, but I thought I should share it all with you. "Cute Overload."

The cuteness! It burrrnnnsss...

No kidding.
After about a year of no updates, I finally pulled Preshrunk from my bookmarks. It, of course, immediately begins updating.
The best argument for kicking the Sports Guy habit: I haven't read him in close to a year, and there wasn't a single joke on this page I didn't get immediately.
Excellent stubble. I bet you're glad you've retained my consultancy services.

Your fee's not much, so I m'ise well.

You were right that Coulter spent that entire phone call addressing precisely the opposite of what Elizabeth Edwards actually had to say. "Please stop bringing personal attacks into politics." "Why are you telling me to stop speaking?"
But that said, where does Chris Matthews get off having Coulter on his show? Wasn't she fired from MSNBC several years back for telling some paraplegic Vietnam veteran that it was his fault we lost the war? I'm a little surprised the network is still giving her airtime.

I'm surprised anyone other than Fox gives her airtime - I really don't understand the allure of Ms. Coulter. I think I've heard her maybe express a point without being unnecessarily mean-spirited or [debate term I've forgotten, but pretty much what she did to Edwards - it's like a straw man, but not quite.. although straw man may be what I'm thinking of.. God, I'm running neutral this week, I'm sorry, gang]. I mean, I guess that's the whole point of her schtick, but I don't understand why non-Fox News outlets allow themselves to get dragged into it.
And, yes, your recollection of her dismissal from MSNBC is correct. (Or at least wiki-correct.)
The new GTA trailer just dropped at various outlets around the web. Sweet.

On the Popeye strip... that's just disturbing.
I mean what chick would willingly go after Whimpy like that, let alone have two chicks fight over him?
Eagerly anticipating Pete's completion of the song...

"Wiki-correct". I like the term, Bullfrog. You're at least in 1st gear, grinding your way towards 2nd.
(Maybe there are 2.5 billion other people that use the above term, but I heard it first right here in this space.)
Bullfrog -- Thursday, June 28 2007, 03:57 pm
It just didn't seem to award someone complete 'correct' standing only because Wikipedia agreed with them.

How come they don't call Wiki devotees "Wikipedaphiles"? People have no guts nowadays.
Hey Bullfrog, you might have already mentioned this, but I'm lame and haven't checked yet - did you see Retrocrush's 100 Worst Cover Songs piece? It'll make your eyes bleed, and not in a good way.

I have, yeah, although I haven't had the guts to subject myself to all of them. I disagree with his Shatner choice - that Rocket Man one is a classic. For true horror, Shat's take on Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds is the way to go. WOW.
