Crikey, Matsuzaka, get adjusted to the AL, will you?
So, 2.0's show opened wonderfully last night. Most of the artists showed up, my aunt and uncle showed up, and a bunch of random people we've never seen showed up. Most were arty, but two wore polo shirts and looked as if they'd address me as 'bra.' The ladies that worked at the BAC were all extremely nice, and there was beer.
Wait, geez, I only have two episodes of the Gilmore Girls left? Wow. Sudden. I apparently missed a good one the other night. Dammit! Well, at least that's one less thing I need to watch on TV.
There's a Bjork show on NPR tomorrow night - guaranteed you freak you out right through the airwaves.
Seriously? I own the Ransom soundtrack and I wouldn't bother to even download that. By the way, I am greatly trepidatious about this new Pumpkins album. I was running around in Prospect Park the other day and a concert version of Today from the post-Machina (just pre-breakup) era came on - they had gotten so Goddamn glum, instead of angsty and rage-y. I don't go for that. Yell, guys. You can do it. The flag imagery makes me a bit hopeful.
This is funny to me, because I have a friend whose job title is honest-to-God "sigma six black belt." I believe I will start calling him Ryu.
The Sox just put the M's down in a harder-than-it-shoulda-been game, so I immediately wish death to rain down on the Goat Fuckers. Instead, I see this:
Kinsler, you're killing me. What the hell are you swinging at? How did you even get a bat on that thing?
I've been hoping all week to find some of the Rage set from last weekend's Coachella floating around the interweb, with no luck. You know what a terrible substitute is? YouTube clips.
You'll never believe this, but I am evidently Spider-Man.
Alright, everyone. Don't tell me how Spidey is if you see it over the weekend, since I'll be catching it Monday or Tuesday, and enjoy the Bjork show and the nice weather.

Just an FYI - anyone who read the site before 8:45 may've noticed some info up there that's no longer up there. If anyone references the information that has been redacted, your comment will also be redacted.
Anyone who didn't read the site that early and thinks I'm being mysterious, well, I *am* Spider-Man.

Over on Doonesbury, they rerun the Halberstam strips from '79 as kind of a tribute:
Just noticed, Julian Tavarez for the Sox has gone against Roy Halladay twice, Wang, and tomorrow gets Santana. Damn rainouts that match our insane number 5 up with everyone else's ace.

ooh! I'm so glad I got on early and now am "in the know"...
and i think it's a "SIX SIGMA black belt" not "sigma six"...i only know this because six sigma is the bane of my job.
Bullfrog -- Friday, May 4 2007, 09:50 am
Much like the Moblin who gives Link money, MNP, it's a secret to everyone, so shh.
Yeah, must be Six Sigma - I couldn't remember which way it went. I've had to edit parts of business books that reference it, but it's so boring that I've just banished it from memory.
MNP -- Friday, May 4 2007, 10:57 am
Don't worry...I think I forgot already. Life is too crazy for my memory to retain much more than the fact that Hawaii has the lowest unemployment rate of any state at 2.3%. You needed to know that, didn't you?
Bullfrog -- Friday, May 4 2007, 11:14 am
I did. My favorite ridiculous stat is that Costa Rica has a 95% literacy rate.

You were obviously thinking of the recent GI Joe series, bullfrog.
Ron's "catching them in the act" eyes are outstanding.
The one day this week I didn't get in obscenely early, I miss out on some secret information.
It didn't involve the completion of the Five Bucks T-Shirt... did it?
2.0 -- Friday, May 4 2007, 01:33 pm
Keep dreamin' Whitey!

It was part one of a twenty-part .url to a secret comic I'm writing for die-hard Five Bucks fans. Kind of like Kotaku's PS3 contest, except I'm only posting one part of a web address at a time, and then retracting it. If you're quick, you'll be able to piece them all together and then get Five Bucks to Friday: Issue Zero, as I like to call it.
So, tough luck for most of you, but the first part of the .url will be easy to figure out once you have the rest of it!

That's all nonsense, of course. I can't my act together to draw a couple of t-shirts, you think I could manage that undertaking?
By the way, I'm upset I missed My Name is Earl last night (more accurately, I'm upset I didn't hear about this ahead of time, since I don't watch My Name is Earl).
