Whoo!

Posted: 8:45 am, Tuesday, April 10th

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the last strip I had to draw on my old laptop! Whee! Of course, I'm making this entry from my office computer, because the inspection on my car was out of date. I could explain further, but, really, it's just not that interesting. I've noticed that every time I've had significant car trouble since I've been living in the city - OK, I guess the time the car died on the way to Reggie Ho's wedding aside - I've been doing work for the LA office and have been stuck in the office late. Oh well.

Because my evening last night did not really contain a moment of free time to be enjoyed - I watched a few minutes of Baseball Tonight with my dad, but spending time with John Kruk and Steve Phillips is barely enjoyable - I don't have much to say here. I do, however, have this, perhaps the crowning achievement of my six and a half years on the job, to present. Behold!

Hell, yeah.

While on the phone with 2.0 last night, I did it! I finally did it! I pitched a shutout in Hearts. I'm hoping this will be like the time I won my 10,000th game of FreeCell, and I never again have the urge to play this stupid, stupid game.

Alright, hopefully today will be better and I'll get some actual stuff of interest for you tomorrow. Oh, the Arcade Fire's Neon Bible is pretty good, and I grabbed some Modest Mouse off elbo.ws the other day, too, and I have to say, I actually kind of dig it. Never was much of a Modest Mouse fan, but the three I got off their new one are all quite good. And happy birthday to my dad, who doesn't know of this site's existence, I don't think.

Thanks. Makes me wish I've had Lissa calling herself 'Red' since the git. Oh well.

I haven't been really able to completely slack off work and watch the GameDay crawl of games yet this season, but I have noticed that it's become incredibly freaking elaborate. I guess this is eating a lot of memory and other negative things like that, so some dude actually went and did something about it. No idea how these work yet, but I'm going to give it a shot during the home opener this afternoon.

Kind of funny booing primer on the Prospectus from the other day (can you tell I'm happy to have baseball back?):

It took my seven years until I actually won a game in hearts (last week, actually). I did find out you can actually change the name of the computer players in your hearts game. I have yet to finish the expert level in mindsweeper without being blown up. I can't even get past the first level of Super Mario Brothers (the original one. I also have problems with Super Mario 2). Why am I such a slacker failure?!?!?! (I live a very sad life.)

for those of you in NYC or other areas of the Northeast...if you have a BofA or MBNA credit or debit card, you can go to a ton of museums for free during May...just a head's up! http://www.bankofamericapromotions.com/museums/

This is one of the most impressive things I've seen in a long, long time.

That Donkey Kong had to have taken them longer than 5 hours.

you want an addictive game... http://www.k2xl.com/games/boomshine/

Miyaa -- Tuesday, April 10 2007, 05:00 pm

If that Donkey Kong grin lasts for more than five hours, please consult your doctor. (And stop watching those Viagra ads.)

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, April 10 2007, 06:12 pm

I am one of the proud 3.97% to complete level 12 of boomshine. That was pretty sweet.
