Timing screws me yet again.

Posted: 8:20 am, Monday, March 12th

Only *I* could run a daily strip on an instantaneous medium and still mis-time everything radically. The weather's supposed to be in the mid-50s today, a far cry from the -10 windchill we had the day I drew this one last week. Oh well. At least I'm in the right ballpark of timing for some peace marches. There's actually going to be one in Brooklyn the weekend after this coming one, which is nice, because I'd rather not spend St. Patrick's Day protesting the war. As misplaced a priority as it may be, I'd kind of like to have my corned beef sammich, some beer, and the NCAAs.

In which the Irish got a touch hosed - a six seed? Really? Pitt certainly showed they deserve a three in their competitive game against Georgetown in the Big East final, though, definitely. Oh well. Props to SUNY Albany, moving up to a 13-seed on the basis of last year's game against UConn.

And because I've got to get working - Zodiac = really quite good, Devil Wears Prada = kind of entertaining but supremely disturbing if you continue to think about it after it ends, and later in the week, some pics of Greenwood Cemetery. 2.0 and I took a field trip yesterday (four whole blocks away!).

grr. a 6 seed?????????

It's booty, for sure. I do like that we've drawn Oregon and Wisconsin in the bottom half of the bracket, though. If we get past Winthrop, I think we're in good shape.

MNP -- Monday, March 12 2007, 11:49 am

and i'm hopeful that Winthrop is being so over-hyped as "the next George Mason" that they'll severely under-perform. but that may just be wishful thinking.

Wow... Stewie Mandel saying something nice about ND.. granted, he's right (and it's not football related). I think the committe had that one pegged prior to the Big East tournament.

Still not sure on my Final Four... seems like a good year for upsets! Which probably means all #1 seeds will advance.

Yeesh. Sleater-Kinney was evidently correct when they said that this music gig doesn't pay much.

Wow, Brey got Big East Coach of the Year. guess the "we need a new coach" people should hold off a little while. http://www.bigeast.org/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/030607aac.html

Anne Hathaway is turning into the Molly Ringwald of this generation. She'll be in some racy movie in her late thirties to try to prove something. I'm not what.

Look on the bright side, the Irish this year are on par with Duke. I'm not sure Duke deserves the sixth seed.

Just please get Syracuse coach Jim Bayheim off my sports radio dial, please. Hey, next year, maybe play someplace outside of New York during the non-conference time and perhaps wear something less hideous than those Orange unis, m'okay?
