Comic for Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Whoo, more karaoke!

Posted: 8:45 am, Wednesday, March 7th

Geez, is today seriously only Wednesday? Bleh.

Thought of another stupid effin' ad last night! The Pizza Hut one where the guys all have freakishly exaggerated facial features - what the hell is wrong with the two guys that think that smelling the garlic and looking at the cheese are the way to go? It's pizza. You fucking eat it.

You'll never believe this, but the Post thinks Scooter should be pardoned. I haven't read their editorial, but I'm assuming it's based off the fact he's clearly the fall guy for Rove and Megatron. Which I can kind of understand. But then he should've sold those two evil fuckers down the river. Because he was willing to lie and keep lying for dishonorable men, in building a case for an unnecessary war, he should rot. Of course, he won't. (By the way, I just finished reading that book on the Pentagon Papers and can't really recommend it because the first 200 pages are astoundingly slow, but the last 150 are excellent. So take it out of the library and just read sections three and four, dealing with the actual leaking of the papers and Nixon's uber-paranoia. Nixon doesn't get enough credit for being a terrible president, I don't think. Sure, he went to China, but, shit, that dude was crazy.)

Oh, in other ridiculous news, uh, news, I was watching the ten o' clock news on Monday night, and the anchor lead off with, "A plot to kill Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and blow up police headquarters! But first, our big story - the cold is back!" You know what's a bigger story than it being cold in March? A plot to kill Ray Kelly and blow up police headquarters. The "plot" such as it was, consisted of a Rikey's inmate offering someone fifteen grand to kill Kelly and fifty to bomb the headquarters, so it was more a pipedream than a plot, but, still.

Uh, that's really all I've got. It's been busy 'round the office again.

Something smells like grilled meat in my office. I can only assume that someone around here loves fire-grilled food.

The Irish are racking up early commits for the '08 class, but the real point of this post is that I love pictures of airborne defensive linemen. Check out Cwynar in red about halfway down, here.

That's going to be one sore QB.

I may have missed this conversation earlier but what do you think the chances of Quinn going number one are? The Raiders kicked Aaron Brooks to the curb but they might grab the guy from LSU.

skt -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 10:52 am

did anyone see the fabulous premier of the show who wants to be the next pussy (cat doll)?

it was so freaking great

anyone? anyone?

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 11:22 am

I was drawing while 2.0 was watching it. If I ever hear that Don't Ya song again, I'll probably murder someone.

The Raiders are smitten with JaMarcus. I think Brady will be a Brown. Which, aside from the orange helmet, is cool.

skt -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 12:04 pm

okay, so the song admittedly blows but all that vomiting and the dread VIRUS - so great!

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 12:24 pm

Yeah, the vomiting was hilarious. The whole show needs an outside consultant, though - I know it's meant to promote the brand (which sucks), but they do it in such an over-the-top self-fellating way that it just drove me nuts.

Of course, as a network TV T&A vehicle, it met its goals. Which was the point, I suppose.

2.0 -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 01:52 pm

I thought puking was the final frontier of reality television, but now that line has been crossed. What's next??? That's what's gonna keeping me tuned in for sure.

That, and the self-fellation Jeremiah just mentioned. How do they bend so low?

Seriously, I take a secret pleasure in watching stupid girls talk about how hard they work in order to "make it" (whatever that means).

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 02:36 pm

My favorite was them talking about "when I perform."

skt -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 02:55 pm

my favorite was shantae stating that she had an advantage over the other girls because they were all sick and she wasn't.

i hope i never win anything by vomiting default.

KT -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 03:07 pm

I'm pretty sure that the final frontier of reality television was already crossed on the show Flavor of Love, when one of the girls - after waiting through the whole long elimination ceremony, could no longer contain her self and left some #2 on the floor, and afterwards tried to nonchalantly leave the party. After that, vomitting seems pretty damn tame. Disgusting, I know.

2.0 -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 05:19 pm

Oh my--I totally forgot about that event. I used to watch Flavor of Love show at the gym. KT, good call.

2.0 -- Wednesday, March 7 2007, 05:20 pm

However, that *was* cable. I should have specified.
