Comic for Friday, January 26th, 2007

Yes, that's an LL Bean Visa card.

Posted: 9:00 am, Friday, January 26th

I've always wondered how different it would be to do a three-panel strip like later Peanuts or Penny-Arcade. I don't think it would work for me - I write too much dialogue. But today's is virtually a three-panel, with a strange conclusion thrown on there. I don't know why I'm calling attention to this. I talk too much.

Alright, sorry this is later than normal even by my current standards, but I was trying to scan a Five and Dime for y'all and couldn't get it to come out right. I guess you'll have that to look forward to on Monday.

Actually, we're looking at pretty slim pickings throughout today. Didn't have much time to cruise the web yesterday because of having to, you know, work, and might run into the same problems today. Bleh. Also, got home to some nice new RAM, which seems not to have fixed the problem. Oh well, at least it was about half the price that Dell wanted me to pay for it. Guess I'd best tote that thing off to some repair shop that knows what they're doing. Son of a bitch. It's all enough to make me want to follow *this*.

Evidently, there's a comic-strip industry daily newsletter blog. Who knew?

2.0 and I finally watched Fog of War to its conclusion last week, which I believe Netflix delivered to us back in November or so. The craziest thing about it is that the interview took place in 2000, well before the invasion of Iraq, and yet the language used during the Vietnam clips is the *exact* same that Shitwit and his puppets use, while trying to argue that this isn't another Vietnam. God. Anyway, excellent film, should've watched it when it first came out.

Uh, and that's about it. I'm finally taking advantage of restaurant week tonight, but it's not my doing - Skitters is dragging me out into the cold to make me partake of the deals.

SKITTAZ -- Friday, January 26 2007, 09:55 am

nothing like a little ouzo and souvlaki to warm the bones

Geez, I can't believe that guy actually got a free Macbook. That is so cool!

Bullfrog -- Friday, January 26 2007, 10:21 am

Ugh, keep that licorice firewater away from me.

Pat -- Friday, January 26 2007, 11:00 am

Wow, yinz? Did Ron grow up in the 'Burgh?

Bullfrog -- Friday, January 26 2007, 11:08 am

Nah. Just like playin' with words.

Restaurant Week, followed by "Doggie Bag" Week.

I hear it's like 3 degrees Fahrenheits right now in New York. (12:06 PM, EST). Don't blame you for not wanting to go out.

The worst children's book I've ever seen I saw yesterday: Hello, Fredbird! (With Ozzie Smith) I'm sorry, but athletic teams should not be turned into children's books. (Note for everyone else but 15, Fred bird is the St. Louis Cardinal's mascot.) What would they call the Notre Dame football team, Hello, Touchdown Jesus!?

That Nickelback made $74.1 in the US alone last year has me seriously doubting the existence of a fair and loving God.

I'm pretty sure we have a book about taking a young kid to the Grotto or something like that, but I didn't see it in a quick search online. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for the next catalog.

Did find this, though.

I'm positive Ben & Noah have a ND Children's book, right MJ?

Ondy -- Friday, January 26 2007, 01:32 pm

I don't know, I've always thought I'll end up getting this one for my son in a year or so...
