Comic for Tuesday, December 5th, 2006

Ron's an awesome wingman.

Posted: 7:35 am, Tuesday, December 5th

Ugh, not feelin' so strong today, crowd. Da sniffles have caught me, and brought their friend sore throat along for the ride. Pity me not, since I'm certain this is not unrelated to the fact I rolled in at three o'clock the other morning and insisted on wearing Boecker instead of an actual winter coat basically until yesterday. Still, though, it's a bitch. Compounding issues is that I don't actually have tomorrow's strip drawn yet - there's a very small chance that you'll get a pretty rough hand-drawn thing for tomorrow, but, hell, if Penny-Arcade can get away with it, why can't I? (You could write a doctoral thesis on the differences between this strip and Penny-Arcade, of course.)

Speaking of other comics, this one really made me laugh.

I was going to save all these for one day of just a ginormous Christmas mix tape, but since I'm skimping on most of this post and need to get going and move my car, check out Santastic II: Clausome. It's a mash-up of Christmas carols and dance tunes and what-not by the dude that did the Beastles (well, it's hosted by him - it seems to be by a ton of DJs). I'm about midway through it right now, and I'm enjoying it immensely.

And the last thing is this awesome site that hosts a bunch of old - and I mean like 1930 old - Betty Boop shorts. These things are outstanding. The world Betty and, uh, Bimbo, seems to be the characters name, inhabit is an ever-changing fever dream of a world. I watched three of these things last night and really enjoyed the hell out them. Highly recommended - also, whatever Revver is, you get much better resolution than YouTube.

Oh! Right, the black-tie thing. Meh, wasn't the magical fantasy world I had hoped it would be. The food was good, though, and Cardinal Egan was the keynote speaker. I give it a B, since I had to wear my suit all day and every jackass at the office suddenly thought they were funny and should comment on it.

Where's her black lipstick?

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 09:41 am

She doesn't wear it *all* the time.

Pat -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 12:38 pm

I'm kind of creeped out that you named a love interest character after my mom. Not cool, Jeremiah, not cool! Please warn me of any impending lovey-dovey shit so I can avoid the grossness.

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 01:17 pm

Only having a vague idea where the Cece character is going to go, I think I can assure you that nothing that'll make you want to kill yourself too badly will happen.

Sweaty -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 02:10 pm

Great Bullfrog, you just gave away the ending. Now I'm just going to have to read snoopy instead for the next week. Everything in that comic happened about 50 years ago, so I have no idea what's going to happen next.

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 02:31 pm

For instance, Pat, Cece's real name is "Michelle," and Pete's going to do horrible, depraved things to her. And she's going to like it.

Sweaty -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 03:34 pm

Now I'm definitely going to stick to Snoopy.

Sometimes there's a disadvantage to having lived with the author of a webcomic for a few long years.

Am I still on notice?

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, December 5 2006, 03:38 pm

You're on notice, bitch. I'm comin' out of the booth.
