Comic for Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

And now a quiet moment.

Posted: 7:35 am, Tuesday, November 28th

Originally, I had intended to draw the three groupafolks kissing, there, but it required a lot of really odd contortions and what-not. So I wussed out and went for.. nuzzling? I hope you like the strip anyway. Gee, I just noticed the T on Pete's shirt seems to have disappeared, too. Huh. Well, anyway, just because it's only one panel, don't feel ripped off. It's just how the joke went.

Thanksgiving's done, and Christmas is coming, and that means it's time to shop. Hopefully none of you - save Reggie Ho, as I know for a fact he did this - found yourself out on Black Friday like this lady. I did that once in collitch and once in Albany a few years ago - what a nightmare. Check out the About the Author on that article, by the way - it's the girl that tells you how NPR is supporting the podcast you're listening to. I wish I had a good radio voice. I hate the sound of my recorded voice. Back to shopping, though, I began my Christmas purchasing yesterday. It was a bit of a melancholy task, because I started off at Coliseum Books, which currently has their entire stock marked off 20-50%, because they're going out of business. It's a very sad state of affairs. Also! When going out and about shopping for presents, it is advisable to do your book purchasing *last,* as books are extremely heavy. I remembered this while trucking about last night. Yeesh.

Also re: the shopping, it's like sixty something in New York City, so it's tough to get the Christmas feeling going right now. I don't know how the peeps in California ever manage it. I had kind of intended to get my one annual eggnog latte from Starbucks, but I wasn't really in the mood, so I skipped it. By the way, just for the hell of it, I did a store finder for Starbucks with a five-mile radius of my building. 192 stores.

I really love scathing reviews of things. I got one of my friends a book called I Hated This Movie or something by Roger Ebert a few years ago, because about the only time I like Ebert is when he's really pissed off at a movie. Which is kind of a nice segue, because this scathing review is from the Chicago Sun-Times, about the MicroSoft iPod-ish.

I'm hitting this place in a few days for a trivia night. I'm very excited for free pizza with a drink, and also SkeeBall. Can't say I'm expecting too much from the pizza.

Alright, that's all I've got.

2007: The Year Pete finds Love. Or he bangs a Night Court Judge in the process.

Bullfrog -- Tuesday, November 28 2006, 11:36 am

Speaking of night court, the night court in NYC is actually open to the public. 2.0 and I have been meaning to go watch the proceedings at some point for a while now. If we ever make it, a full report will follow.

I like it. Particularly the pirate-eyed Jen. I also didn't realize Lissa was actually into nerd-loc. Good for her!

Let me know how Harry, Mac, Bull, Christine and Dan are doing if you do go.

"$50 and time served!"
