Pretty sweet Cash video with an all-star cast right here. I'm guessing that's off American Recordings V, which got pretty good reviews when it came out back around the Fourth of July.
Man, where the hell is Wildwoods, NJ? (Answer: Very far south.) Check out the awesome friggin' hotel signs that town has. I love shit like that. Reminded me, for some reason, of all the awesome old 7-Up signs littered around San Francisco. I really liked San Francisco. (What was the deal with those signs, I wonder? I figured 7-Up was created in San Fran, but wikipedia, which is never wrong, tells me the Loo is the birthplace of this underrated soda. Huh.)
Do you need your turkey advice a little more leftist than the Butterball 1-800 line? Well, the Times has your back.
Guys, seriously? What's not cool is antisemitism.
Ten dolla sale at Threadless goin' on for the next few weeks, just so you all know.
Got out Tivoli Model Two last night - pretty happy with it. It's tiny and gets nice sound, so what else is there to want, really? We were tempted at the last minute by the Specktrone, but they only had the display model in stock, and it was missing a wire. The guy did tell us about how Elijah Wood bought one, though. So there's that. He also told us about some hot dog dude down on Ludlow that puts spicy Korean lettuce on his dogs. Being shamefully and painfully monolingual, I can't tell you the actual name of the lettuce, but, yeah, so there's that. (For my money, the chihuahua is still the dog to beat in NYC.)
I hate Michigan. I just fucking hate Michigan. I want them to lose every game they ever play, by either embarrassingly large margins (triple digits) or hope-crushingly small margins (one point). I’m rooting for them to lose this weekend at the Horseshore because I think it would represent Notre Dame’s best chance at backing into the title game (an appearance which I will readily admit I do not think we really deserve, but, God, we’re just so close that it’ll be a bit disappointing if we don’t make it). All of that said, I still would rather go to Ann Arbor a million times as an opposing team’s fan before ever venturing to Columbus. Them fools is crazy.
Speaking of football – and when aren’t I lately? – has anyone seen the Thanksgiving schedule? I refuse to share my turkey with Jon Kitna and Joey Harrington (and also Bruce Gradokowski and Tony Romo). Dear God, that’s some crummy football. This will help me be a better guest at la casa de la 2.0’s progenitors.

Wood -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 09:30 am Bronco's v Chiefs should be a good game. The AFC west is turning into a slug fest to follow the Chargers. What could be better than watching No Mistake Jake The Snake Plummer walk all over Phillip Rivers.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 09:39 am True, but I'll be knocked out cold by then from the turkey. And I have no idea if they've got the NFL Network up in the 585.
Miyaa -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 09:45 am As someone who used to live in Chiefs country, the late game is good. it gives everyone there time to eat Thanksgiving dinner --- you will see the mother of all tailgating this day --- especially since the first two games suck. I wonder if they will have the Plaza lighting ceremony (very fancy shopping district, you must go if you ever are in Kansas City) early because of the game?
Anyway, I quote from ESPN the Magazine: Famed schlockmieister/director Roger Corman has contacted Brady Quinn about playing famed Notre Dame star George "The Gipper" Gipp in a new film. No Really. (Ye, Gods.) Which brings up the question, would you want to see a remake of the "Remember the Gipper" film?
Miyaa -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 09:46 am That's 816 if you were referring to Kansas City's area code. Unless they've added a new area code while I wasn't looking.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 10:07 am 585's western New York, which is where I'll be eating some turkey this year.
I've actually never seen Knute Rockne: All-American, but I guess I'm pro-remake if only so I can have some other visual cue to pop into my head when I think of the Gipper besides Ronald Reagan.
By the way, the Gipper is fucking awesome in the NCAA games on the PlayStation. He's the starting halfback if you unlock the all-time Irish.
CK -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 11:14 am Did anyone else watch Gilmores last night? Ooogh . . .
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 12:06 pm Saw the last ten minutes, CK. Anyone wishing to discuss it, slap a spoiler warning on it, as I've been informed that Reggie Ho has it Tivo-ed.
GILMORE SPOILER:
I was actually ready to give up entirely on the series until I saw the scenes from upcoming episodes in which Luke and Chris look ready to throw down. If Chris lands more than two punches in that fight, I quit. Luke ought to be able to beat him like a rug.
Also, they should spin Lane and Zach into their own show. They're way more interesting.
RealMonster -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 12:12 pm That's one of my favourite Simpson's references. I actually use it all the time, myself.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 01:01 pm I quite frequently use "I'm a guy at a place," when telling people what I do for a living.
Wood -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 02:00 pm I prefer the ever evasive "We do a variety of things for a variety of clients"
MNP -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 02:25 pm Another reason that corporations should not get to name ballparks...it means their stocks won't do well.

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 03:05 pm I like that that article posits that Yankee fans will avoid Citibank because they don't like the Mets. Yankee fans wills avoid Citibank because none of them can figure out a checking account.
Wokka wokka wokka!
Miyaa -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 03:19 pm Mets fans are calling it something else entirely. I'll give you three guess and the first two don't count.
15 -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 03:32 pm That article isn't right, anyway. STL was 83-78 this year (49-31 at home). Not great, but they definitely were over .500. (If you include the postseaon, they won 94 games this year!)
Also, the Diamondbacks won a World Series in 2001, not 1999.
MNP -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 03:44 pm #15 - I think a letter to the editor is in order.
Bullfrog -- Wednesday, November 15 2006, 04:00 pm Sheesh, that error's in the print edition, too. C'mon, Gray Lady, buck up.
