Comic for Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

I have no idea where the DoubleMint line came from.

Posted: 7:16 am, Wednesday, October 18th

Uni Watch called these possibly the worst basketball uniforms ever, and I think I have to agree. The black one looks like onesies.

I haven't checked my Netflix queue much lately - I managed to disable my DVD burner a while back and have been slow in seeking a fix for it, slowing down our movie consumption (for, uh, completely unrelated and legal reasons) - but has anyone else experienced this weirdness where they're producing their own movies and recommending them? I don't see how that's actually profitable for them.

Wow, Bully got a 10 and I forgot it came out yesterday. This is what having to spend four straight days on the phone does to you.

I've never heard of the Morgan Library and Museum before, but they've got a Bob Dylan exhibit going on these days that I'll probably have to check out. I don't know what this'll have that I didn't already see in Scorsese's film from earlier in the year, but, hell man, it's Dylan.

Some friends of Stacked put together a video website that is actually pretty hilarious. I don't recommend Office Date if you have any manners whatsoever, but the Breaking and Entering Idiolympics are awesome. The third guy's strategy is tops.

Um, wow.

2.0 posted this relatively late into the readership day, so at her request, I am reposting it for her.. CK's answer was "Hey Ya," but if anyone else has anything, feel free. For the record, I'm think of Bob Marley's "Jammin'" for the mother-son dance.

Jeremiah is correct, I am at a new job and I don't want to let on that I am a slacker just yet. Thank you all for your shock and congratulations! I got a little chocked up I must admit.

As for the song, it isn't punk, but it *is* a secret.

Sweats, I'm sorry...my bridesmaids all have 'plus ones' or are otherwise inappropriate for you to touch. Jain's brother will break your neck upon request...fair warning.

Anyone got a good father daughter song that is somewhat unconventional?

Papa Don't Preach? If the crowd doesn't like it, you could always steal some children from Africa as a symbolic gesture and then fail to raise them properly.

This will break my streak of 10,342 days of never having anything nice to say about the University of Southern California, but, damn, their band played Snakes on a Plane last weekend. That is awesome.

I really like Pete's jacket -- is it from Brooklyn Industries?

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 09:05 am

Uh, no, actually, Pete's jacket came from my head. I'm sure you can get a reasonable fascimile at many fine retailers, though.

Reggie Ho -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 10:09 am

These guys sure do have a lot of clothes. I think they should wear the same clothes every day like I do.

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 10:15 am

I recycle t-shirts a lot, actually. Ron's had that same jacket the entire run of the strip. Pete's shirt today is hard to read, but it's a shirt that one of my buddies from the Rome program had.

I've had a few instances where Ron and Pete have evidently mixed up their t-shirts in the laundry or something. I think they've both worn the Suicide Machines shirt and the It's OK Not to Drink shirt at one time or another.

CK -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 01:58 pm

Is that a seagull above Ron's head in the first four panels?

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 02:02 pm

No, that's the eagle I sewed in eighth grade home ec. (Ron is not me.)

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 02:03 pm

By the way, Reggie Ho, I just happened to see the Post's headline over lunch and only now know what the hell you were talking about with the adopting an African baby.

2.0 -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 02:04 pm

yes, you see Ron was in Jeremiah's home ec class and *also* crafted the very same eagle. Ron is such a copy cat!

the Thoroughly Unpleasant One -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 02:34 pm

I can't believe you drew Pete in one of Federico's shirts. That is so wrong, yet hilarious. Almost as wrong as Federico was for wearing crazy right-wing Republican shirts abroad.

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 02:35 pm

Wow, that is an impressive catch, Thoroughly. Yep, that's a Phil Gramm For President shirt Pete's sporting.

Pete's been in one of Bay's shirts from time to time, too (Ways to Die #347: Touch Me, I'm a Freak).

Deadspin has an e-mail regarding the lowest motherfucker I've ever heard of right now.

http://www.deadspin.com/sports/baseball/meanwhile-in-detroit--208468.php

Seriously, it's like the anti-Good Will Hunting scenario. It's like if Sean not only took one of his friends' tickets to bring the girl he had to see about to Game 6, but also molested Will under the auspices of being his therapist. Death is too good for that man.

Bullfrog -- Wednesday, October 18 2006, 04:51 pm

THE GOGGLES DO NOTHING.

Actually, I've seen that thing all over the internet, but being only noddingly familiar with Borat, never knew that picture wasn't serious.

Okay, spam about antivirus programs that protect against spam. My head explodes.
