Comic for Friday, October 13th, 2006

Three things are certain in life.

Posted: 7:36 am, Friday, October 13th

Mornin' gang. It's 41 outside of my window here in the 718, and I hear parts of Upstate got some snow overnight. Yowza! In the meantime, be mindful of hockey-mask wearing maniacs today, eh? We tried to get Freddy v. Jason from Netflix, but evidently we weren't the only ones that had that idea today, and it had to ship from Lansing, MI, and we won't be getting it 'til Monday. Oh well, we still have Part VII from the box set to watch.

2.0, Chef and I went to the openings in Chelsea last night, and yet again not a lot to report. There was one gallery that had photos of lynchings from out west in California that were pretty interesting. (The site hasn't been updated yet for views of that.) And another place in 511 W. 25th had a display of the one guy that does all the fried clam paintings for the shops on the boardwalk of Coney Island. More interesting than must-see, but it was nice to get free wine.

Jack funny. (Don’t read if you have been buried under a pile of shale resulting from an overturned dumptruck for the last year and a half and haven’t read Harry Potter 6 yet but are interested in doing so.)

The curse of the Fast Ferry has hit Toronto!

I'm not a big fan of Dr. Z (either the prognosticator or the DaimlerChrysler CEO), but this article about a guy with a 5.12 second kickoff is fantastic.

2.0's listening to WNYC right now and they just mentioned the giant statue of Kim Il-sung in Pyongyang. I've never actually seen it, so, through the power of Google, here you go.

Man, I was talking to Sweaty for a while last night and came up with the greatest thing to find on YouTube ever, but now, damn if I can think of it. So we'll just throw up Johnny Cash singing about Big Bird counting to one.

Oh, man, I am so bummed. Coliseum Books is closing by year's end. This is heart-breaking. Well, I guess I'll be trekking over to 7th Ave Books a lot more often. Man.

Well, everyone go and have a good weekend. Enjoy the bye week, go look at some leaves and what-not. 2.0 and I are going to hike in the Catskills, so hopefully it warms up a bit. See y'all Monday.

I guess no one is around today. This guy is classic regardless of that fact.

Is that all for real? It reads some crazy psyche project.

Wow, weird that today was so quiet - this has been about the heaviest week of traffic ever on the site, and just nothing going on today. Ah well, have a good one, crowd.
