Comic for Thursday, October 12th, 2006

I went on about the idiocy of chewin' tobaccy yesterday, and Nate Robertson steps up and blogs about his bubblegum chewing. How about that? I love athletes that blog. Can you imagine if one of the Goat Fuckers had a blog? That thing would read like a declassified Pentagon document - there'd be big blacked-out sections throughout. It would be hilarious. Someone should do a fake A-Rod blog or something. That would be great. Fantastic picture of Robertson, there, too. And good playin', so far, Le Tigre. Good times.
I guess the singer of the Darkness had quite the coke habit, which I didn't know was a secret. I'm mostly running this item because I think the part of I Believe in a Thing Called Love where he yells "gui-tar!" to cue up the guitar solo is just friggin' fantastic. Permission to Land is actually a pretty good album. I bought it the day I saw Matrix Revolutions - the album was wa-a-a-a-a-ay better than the film.
If I for some reason become famous enough to be used posthumously in an ad, and for some reason my fucking offspring grants permission for me to be used posthumously in an ad, I'd like to file a pre-need with you all right now to go and beat the crap out of him before the ad runs.
Oh, that's a shame!
Wow, so, the White Sox have no shame.
I'm liking Lost so far this season. (NO REAL SPOILER, but if you haven't seen it, I guess maybe skip this paragraph.) Splitting the Lostaways into three groups is a great idea to slow the pacing down without making me want to kill the executive board of ABC, because they're actually justified in taking their time with so many disparate characters to keep up with. Also, the footage of the Sox winning the Series last night was fucking awesome. Good times!
That's all I've got for right now. I downloaded a bunch of music yesterday, so maybe I'll have found something decent in all that and I can recommend something decent for you all. Hopefully the Mets and Cards can get going tonight - it was raining cows and horses here in Brooklyn last night.

Random Passerby -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 03:10 am Wow, that's a whole mess o'spam.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 06:57 am Yeah, wasn't it? I think I found out the problem - the tech arm of Five Bucks to Friday installed Akismet for me a month or so back, but I think I need to upgrade my service for it to be able to work properly. So I need to look into that, or if I can switch hosting to something that'll let me use Akismet or something similar. This is getting friggin' ridiculous.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 09:48 am The Robot Genius himself is speaking to Mike Frank today on Power Hour - highly recommended for the Domers in the room.

It'll be on iTunes later, too.
Pat -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 10:48 am So did Sun's lover kill himself, or did one of her dad's dudes follow Jin up to the hotel and then finish the job that he couldn't? I couldn't quite figure that out. And then who was she going to see in America? Shit is mad complicated now.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 11:09 am My take is that he killed himself, but Sun thought that Jin did, because he told her that her father had tasked him with delivering a message. I think that Sun was going to flee to America just to get away from her dad and Jin both, but since I never would've guessed about the lover, hell, maybe there's more to it than that.
I'm trying to think of anything in my life that would be even mildly interesting told in a series of disjointed flashbacks.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 11:24 am The Soxaholix are also discussing Lost - I'm really jealous of that guy and his clipart on days like this. I'd be up 'til three in the morning scripting and drawing a Lost-related Five Bucks for a Thursday.

Actually, I guess if I just kept 'em glued to the couch, I'd probably get it done by midnight if I clicked on a script immediately. Maybe I'll try it some day.
Zero -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 11:44 am I like the attitude of the writers for Lost - 'listen, this is what we're doing, if you can't follow all the twists, well, too bad.' Very 'Usual Suspects' of them.
Poor Trixie the Whore. Escapes Deadwood but not Sun.

MNP -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 03:47 pm This is brilliant...
"We Republicans like our right to bear arms," said Sarah Schmidt, president of UNL's College Republicans. "It's something that sparks a lot of college kids' interest and will maybe spark a higher turnout for us at meetings."
Yup, yell about guns, that's the way to get kids interested in politics.

Miyaa -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 03:55 pm It occurred to me that Seagrams would have made a much better offer, and they wouldn't have to change the first pitch time.
Bullfrog -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 03:58 pm Ha!
Whitey -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 04:16 pm What do you mean the White Sox have no shame? Now if you'll excuse me, I have to check my U.S. Cellular phone and see if I have to stop at 7-11 on the way home.
Oddly, first pitch times have been listed as 7:05 forever... so I'm not quite sure where the 7:07 comes in.
Seagrams would have to split the offer with Seven-Up.
Jain -- Thursday, October 12 2006, 11:15 pm I just got a new computer..... this is a great reason to start reading more blogs. Totally great to hear about things other than peoples tax issues. I hate my boss.
If I had a blog it would be boring.
Tell Mere hello for me :)
