Comic for Friday, September 22nd, 2006

Nothin' much to say I guess, just the same as all the rest.

Posted: 12:20 am, Friday, September 22nd

Abbreviated entry tonight, gang. One of 2.0's friends stepped out of the wayback machine and we went to the slowest Thai place in the known universe to grub with her (Spice, down by NYU - good enough food, but not highly recommended), so it was a late evening and I'm writing this all first thing in the morning.

I had no idea that that Dr. Z guy actually was the CEO. None whatsoever.

I find that Deadspin buries some of their best stuff in the blog roundup posts - probably because they're mostly needs-no-introduction type of things, but, still. This post about the worst hockey logos is fantastic.

Yet another music blog, but kind of a different one - one song a day, one picture to go with it (sometimes somewhat racy, but everything's been SFW so far). My favorite is this one about casting the Fantastic Four movie back when it was being kicked around in the mid-90s (that movie was in development for about 15 years). I, for one, think that Zack Morris would be the perfect Human Torch, but I think he'd be just about the perfect anything.

Wow, Congress. Even I had more than a 25% approval back in high school. (Possibly not true, I don't really know.)

I was torn as to which Irish highlight to throw in here for good luck against State tomorrow - if fucking Sparty and Rove haven't disabled my site to ensure defeat like they did last week - so I'm going with two. I like the short clip where it's Dillingham to Battle for the win back in '02, but that was friggin' Pat Dillingham and although I've only watched the first twenty seconds of it, I'm assuming Tyrone makes an appearance in there at one point, and I try to avoid that. But it was a good play after pretty much leading the entire way until Charles Rogers (late of the Lions) decided to actually play the last quarter and scored two ridiculous touchdowns, that I'm putting it up anyway.

And the second is a lenghty highlight reel from the '88 game, since we all need to go back to a happier time when the Irish were undefeated and destroying teams left and right.

There. I feel better. Hey, a happy belated to CK - sorry I missed you yesterday, kiddo, but I wanted to check the magic calendar of all knowledge before sending you a wish, and then it was after midnight when I got home and because I'm old and decrepit, I just went to bed. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Go Irish! Beat Spartans!

Interesting to note that ND was also ranked #12 on that clip.

Hopefully that bodes well for tomorrow night.

So, without further ado...

GO IRISH!!!

Go Irish.

Man, Hugo Chavez is kind of crazy. But it's nice to see Noam in the papers.

Dude, I'm with you on the Dr. Z thing. I had no freakin' idea!

Chavez sucks. He's right though about Americans needing to read instead of watching Superman movies.

Bullfrog -- Friday, September 22 2006, 11:45 am

Yeah, by "kind of," I meant, "completely." Calling Shitwit the devil (or, you know, Shitwit) is sweet on a blog. As a head of state? Rather inadvisable.

MJL -- Friday, September 22 2006, 03:23 pm

Recently got word that I'll be trekking to East Lansing tomorrow. Please forward any ill sentiments if you wish for me to deposit them directly on the banks of the Red Cedar.

Go Irish!

Bullfrog -- Friday, September 22 2006, 03:49 pm

Despite our pantsing of Penn State, the orders re: disposing of Sweaty in the event of a loss stand. He's going to be up there, too. As for ill sentiments, I dunno - what can you say about State that hasn't already been said?

Miyaa -- Friday, September 22 2006, 09:21 pm

Think you can leave some of these automatic spammers on the banks of the Red Cedar while you're there, le Irish Bullfrog?

And once again, it proves that when it comes to economic domination, no one, but no one does it quite like the Asians (Japanese, Chinese, South Korean, etc.). At this point, I'd almost like to have the big three just go into bankruptcy permanently or get bought out by the Japanese. If you can't figure out how to make cars nearly as good or better than the Toyotas, you don't deserve to make a profit, Detroit. The dinosaurs didn't have this much problems going extinct.
