Comic for Monday, July 3rd, 2006

MMMM, cookout.

Posted: 7:50 am, Monday, July 3rd

Don't have a whole lot for you today, gang, but I'm assuming a lot of you are working the four-day weekend and won't be around today, anyway. For the record, there will be a strip tomorrow, but probably not much of a blog to speak of. I expect everyone back here on Wednesday ready to go, though.

Two interesting articles from yesterday's Times - one concerning the fact nobody has any confidants anymore (hey, you guys can always talk to me), and the other concerning ten days that changed the world. I thought they were going to be ten consecutive days, but not so. I never knew anyone came so close to bumping FDR.

Liriano in the AL, Nomah in the NL.

Another story from the Times, about pirates. Modern-day pirates are a lot less cool than the ol' "arr, it be drivin' me nuts" sort of pirates. Also, I find it funny that there's a US Naval destroyer called the Winston S. Churchill.

That's really all I've got. Everybody have a good Fourth. Eat a dog, watch some fireworks.

I would never have guessed we are lacking confidants. I thought the opposite - that we are no longer keeping any secrets or personal information personal.

How in THE HELL is Billy Gag-ner even on the list of choices? Cripes that's pathetic.

I know I'm not supposed to pay attention to anything she does, but the news that Coulter can't even come up with her vile hatred on her own is enough to make me laugh in this empty, empty office I find myself in.

I love Jimmy Carter... and I'm kind of thankful he didn't get a second term only because he's done so much good after leaving office. Maybe he should run for pres. in '08-- bet he'd win.

Does this actually surprise anyone? Shitwit wanted warrantless wire-tapping before 9/11.

Let me think on that for a moment

...

No.

Bullfrog -- Monday, July 3 2006, 10:51 am

Yeah, me neither.

Hah! Great thing on Gawker about companies making their employees coming in today, insisting that things will get done.

I've printed a few documents and pulled a page or two from the company intranet. And now I think I'm going to read or something.

This is one of the stupidest commentaries I have ever read. if you want to lose a few brain cells. http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/02/weekinreview /02barry.html
