A valuable skill.

And I'm back! Sorry about the tail end of last week - things were hoppin' here at Five Bucks World Headquarters. Four parents running around parenting all willy-nilly all over the place, you can hardly imagine. And then the beers that needed to be conquered down in Baltimore on Saturday, well, goodness. Let it be known that 2.0 now has a Master's degree in her possession, and Reggie Ho is one step closer to having an honest man made out of him. And that Applewood is friggin' fantastic if any of you Brooklynites need a dinner a few steps up the fancy ladder from ChipShop (sound).

What else need you to know? I just listened to the new NoFX while drawing a strip for later in the week, and you should probably go out and buy yourself a copy of that. Just started the new Pearl Jam, so I'll pass the verdict along on that in a bit.

The MySpace nightmare of the day is this masterpiece. I especially like the .gif of the cat molesting itself. That's just fantastic.

By the way, unfortunately it is not going to be 80 on Wednesday in the New York metro area. Damn reality getting in the way again.

I know you've got to be getting tired of me saying this, but there will be more tomorrow. There actually will be, too - I have a softball game tonight (barring rain - and, my God, do I hate rainouts.. the Sox haven't played a full game since Thursday, crikey) and then the calendar is, for the first time in several weeks, free of obligations outside of, you know, eating dinner or something. I can't tell you how psyched I am for that. If you need more reading material (or a ceremony performed), check out the Reverend CK, who's been blogging with a vengeance ever since her hiatus ended a few weeks back (seriously, how cool is that, she got to do a wedding ceremony because she's ordained in the Universal Life Church. Awesome thing 948302852 about the interweb). Oh, and if you didn't call your mum yesterday, better do something about that. And you should also get thee to Pratt:

I always think of Mr. Willoughby's Christmas tree when I see Pratt's address.

Joey Porter is evidently going to yell at Shitwit next month. If bloodshed results, I will immediately get me a 55 jersey.

The link would help.

Woof, take two days off, collect rust.

Because, as much as 2.0 wishes it weren't true, everything in the world does in fact relate back to Notre Dame football, here's the story about how Notre Dame's first football coach helped invent Mother's Day.

I went to Applewood once, last year during the Taste of Brooklyn and was pretty disappointed. If you like Cuisine Nouveau it's fine, but personally I like to have more than a few greens and a piece of chicken the size of a half dollar coin for $20/person. Maybe they're better during normal season, but with all of the other great Park Slope dining options I'm not so inclined to go back.

Just noticed you wrote, Eric - when I first got the plate, I was shocked at the little amount of food, but found myself actually satisfied afterwards.. I got the rabbit special with porcini risotto, so maybe it was the risotto that was filling. And it was all so damned rich that I probably couldn't've eaten much more, as it was. I don't know, I was pretty pleased with it. Not pleased enough to make it a regular stop because my wallet would leave me if I did that, but pleased enough to save it for now and agains.
